Regarding his shot, it's not too bad. Wish his release were quicker, but that will likely come with reps. A playmaking PG with his size will be terrific on the weak side in the Triangle. He can run P&R with Melo or a big, and post up if he gets matched on a smaller guard.

Winslow is going to be a solid role player in the league, but I just don't see him having tremendous upside potential.

Very Nice video.... It has definitely changed my views on him. Extremely athletic, already known as a person with good vision and an attacking style,He is physically NBA ready as well so I wouldn't be against the pick up either.

Don't be surprised at two things....

1. Mudiay will get picked up by Philly.
2. Mudiay will have a better NBA career than Russell.

On the flip side, Russell will look better in the triangle, than in Philly's system (whatever that is).

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Yeah, I keep going back and forth these days.

To be honest in that latest video in the DX link above... he looks like a 6'5" Lebron James to me.

Exactly. How do people pass on a 6'5 pure PG with that type of build and athleticism? And his shot looked quicker and smoother in the video. We can't judge his shooting on these videos. Some will make him look good and some will make him look bad. But the body and athletic ability for a PG are undeniable.

Because Mudiay is eerily similar to #4 2009 draft pick Tyreke Evans. In fact the entire top 4 this year is eerily like the 2009 draft.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Tyreke-Evans-1110/ could be a prophecy of what to expect

http://hoopsanalyst.com/?p=1437 also compares Mudiay and Russell to recent PG and Mudiay and Tyreke have damn near the same stats coming into the league

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away

Leading up to the lottery, we all talked about how the top 4 in this draft are the real prizes, including Mudiay. Once we landed pick 4, a lot of us panicked and decided this draft was only 3 deep, especially after the LA highlighted Mudiay's weakness.

I still think this is an easy draft to plan for: Towns, Okafor, Russell, Mudiay. One of them will be available. Don't over think it and just draft the last man standing.

That's fair enough. It's now seeming like that guy could be Okafor if the Lakers take Russell.

This is exactly right. It was considered a 4-man draft for most of the year as far as elite talent. Some people moved Winslow into that as well after his tournament. But Mudiay was always considered a top prospect, on par with the other 3.

I'm wondering how edited or selective that video was. Obviously he looked outstanding in it.

I mean, either way, it shows his high end is very high indeed.

This is the first time I would feel okay taking him 4th.

I honestly think he or Okafor will be there at 4.

Will be curious to see if Philly gets to workout Mudiay.

I'd be equally delighted if Philly takes Mudiay, since that means we'd get either OK4 or Russell, both of whom are ideal fits for Triangle at their position.

Mudiay may have the biggest upside of the bunch, but OK4/Rus would give us a legitimate chance to get deep in the playoffs while Melo is still viable.

It didn't look edited at all. If anything, it looks contiguous. He was just running from hoops to hoop getting fed balls by the assistants.

And damn, he looked solid. Dude is part Wall, part Wade, part Evans. If he develops a solid 3pt shot (which is the easiest thing to build up post-draft) then we'd have a franchise talent on our hands.

Well obviously the very first play to the very last and everything in between was not separated just 4 total minutes of real time.

There were some clips from the same workout on twitter where he bricked a lot more shots- can't remember where now

Because only players we personally like have upside potential!

Based on what I saw in the tournament, he seems like a tweener (2/3) and not really ideal at 2 spot due to poor shooting. I LOVE his hustle and size, but we have Melo at the 3 (for now). As to upside, he doesn't look like his ceiling is too high, but really at this point it's just me speculating. He could be the next Melo.

He does. But his size makes him a tweener. But the potential is definitely there.

I think OK4 could be there at #3 but if he is then i think Philly will trade the pick to someone that's wanting OK4 maybe even Orlando.

The kid has been compared to guys like J.Butler and K.Leonard so how can his upside/ceiling not be to high?? He'll come into the league with comparable defense and he can hit the 3 point shot so he just needs to work on his mid range game.

I hear you, and those are legit comparisons. But the Kawhi and Jimmy B.'s don't grow on trees. For every one of them, there are dozens of coulda-beens.

I like Winslow and thought he earned a solid look from his contributions in the tournament.

Call it a gut feeling, but I just wouldn't take a chance on him at #4. Do I think he'll be solid NBA role player? You bet. Do I think he will be the next Kawhi? My instincts aren't really sure about him. Just how I feel, especially in regards to our pick at #4.

If we were in the 6-8 range, I'd strongly consider him, although in that case I'd most likely go for WCS, followed by Kaminsky. Big is important in the NBA, regardless of the Curry FOTM style of play.

did I read somewhere that Mudiay went to China to play to provide for his family???
If so I like his attitude, compared to Russell's, who I agree does seem a bit precious. I won't be disappointed if we get Mudiay... Or if we get Russell lol
