Not much time for him to improve with us- you don't develop players in 50 games.
maybe thats why Shump is the same player we drafted 4 years ago... he could never play 50 games

Cruel...very cruel.

Lebron might post some of this stuff in the Cavs locker room for motivation.

How will you feel if the Cavs regroup and Smith and Shumpert play vital roles?

You've been around, and I know you coach.

As a wrestling coach, I only relax after it is mathematically impossible to lose- until then I always assume that we might lose.

Stranger things have happened, you know, and this is a strange series, so far.

This team would be so much fun to follow:

C Mozgov
PF Monroe Towns OK4 or Porzingis
SF Winslow Carroll Gallo or Wilson
SG Shumpert
PG Lin Russell or Mudiay
------------
Copeland
Novak
Svhed
Cole
Thanasis
Amundson
Thomas

All this shows if those guys were not the problem. I won't say what the problem is and risk derailing this thread.

Ahhh, now I see.

Opening up old wounds.

I remember Ralph Kiner, a favorite Mets announcer of mine, waxing philosophical when another announcer said something like "If A had not hit into a double play, the homerun just hit by B would have been a two run homer." Kiner responded that you can't say that because everything would be different, and maybe the pitch hit for the homer might have been different if the guy was pitching from the stretch, or he would have pitched differently in some way.

Ralph was dead on.

I know what you're getting at, but who knows what draft positions we might have been in or what FAs we would have signed. You would also, for better or for worse, have MDA as your coach.

The Anthony trade was a game changer, though, and James' ability really highlight's Anthony's limitations as a player.

You also have to think about the Amare signing. Should we have kept Lee? Would Anthony and Lee have been a better pairing, or even possible.

Amare was a very limited defender, as was Lee, but Lee is a better team player than Amare could ever be, and might have been a better player to pair with Anthony.

Nothing to do at this point though.

Wonder how folks will respond.

Point is it would've been better to hold on to our own then trade them as throw-ins or all at once for any one dimensional player. And in some cases trade them for 2019 2nd rd picks

When amare was signed I don't think Melo was available yet. But the Amare signing was a mistake. Phoenix doctors said Amare's knee would not hold up and his deal couldn't be insured because of his knee. Walsh went all in giving up picks and the Knicks lottery pick in an attempt to get LeBron. He must have felt he had to sign someone when he struck out with the super friends. But the assets moved and the cap given up for 2/3 of a season of Amare being healthy handicapped the team for 5 years.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Sounds like the Knicks might have a shot at Okafor. The only concern is his release point on his shot

it would be a grave error to place okafor in a knick uniform. if he falls to the knicks i'd hope jackson can wheel and deal for two picks between 5 and 12.

Okafor hurt his ankle against nc late in Februaury and never really was the same. I know you 'scouted him' during the tournament and you were very critical but the kid reportedly wasn't able to practice on a regular basis because of his injury against Carolina at the end of feb/beginning of march. The kid is a beast. If he falls to the Knicks they need to take him.

What will it take for Dolan to let me run the Knicks. I guarantee you we'd be a playoff team right now. My views and principles haven't really changed the past 20yrs of being a fan. Especially since the post Ewing/ Allan Houston era
