he has to want to give up touches and control of the ball in order to optimize having another playmaker back there with him. he has to be content with being a spot up shooter, and by conserving some energy, have more energy for exerting himself on defense.
that said, i am not sure another backcourt playmaker is what they need. i think beverley would have made a big difference. they need a solid permimeter defender.
