Yes, we should pick the BPA at #4. Mudiay, or Russell preferably.

I tend to think if any of the "big three" fall to 4 it will be Okafor.

The full run down:

Hi! Let's join hands and take a walk through the last two weeks of Knicks draft preference rumors.

5/19, Chad Ford:

The Knicks will talk trade with everyone & are also big Justise Winslow fans. Not sure they're sold on Mudiay ...

5/20, Ian Begley:

Prior to the NBA draft lottery, some members of the New York Knicks' front office were enamored with Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell.

The Knicks, like most other lottery teams, watched Russell closely during the season. The club also interviewed Russell in Chicago at the NBA draft combine.

"Some of their guys absolutely love him," one league source with knowledge of the situation said on Monday night.

5/27, Chad Ford:

I hear that Justise Winslow has some strong support in New York. And two different sources today told me the Knicks are also looking strongly at Willie Cauley-Stein.

5/30, Frank Isola:

While Towns and Willie Cauley-Stein have garnered the most attention, the Knicks for months have been enamored with Trey Lyles, according to a team source. Lyles is a 6-foot-10 forward out of Indianapolis who Phil Jackson ; sees as a good fit for the triangle offense.

Don't forget before the draft lottery, Chad Ford also said our board was 1. Towns, 2. Okafor, 3. Mudiay. They just throw a load of s*** at a wall and hope some of it sticks (or that everyone forgets about it when it doesn't happen)

In regards to the credibility of Isola and Berman, Berman just wrote an article on Kevin Love. This how it starts:
CLEVELAND — Kevin Love broke his silence and claimed he still wants to be in Cleveland next season.

The injured free-agent-to-be may not have a choice if Cavaliers management decides Love’s contract demands are cost-prohibitive and offers its new emerging starting power forward, Tristan Thompson, a maximum contract.

Love has a player option for next year and has said he is going to opt in.

Well.....for the team picking #5, they see this draft as the big 4 and hope one of the 4 drop to #5.

I like Winslow and WCS.....I think they are great two way players and Stein has the same two way potential, as an elite defender. But if Mudiay was ranked as the #1 player out of highschool....with recruits from Kentucky and the other big schools, then you have to say Mudiay, OK4 and Towns are big 3 in this draft. Russell came out of no where, and made it a big 4. Unless there's a big 5, we should focus on pick whoever is left from the big 4. With plans in place to trade down, for anybody willing to over pay for the 4th pick.

Mudiay has superstar potential and we would be very foolish to pass on a potential star. Most of our picks never been rated this high. Plus since Phil isn't looking to get much out of a rookie this year, might as well swing for the fences and hope Mudiay lives up to the hype. I'm hoping WCS, Kaminsky, Christmas, Grant, and a bunch of other solid role players are within range of us purchasing or trading back into the draft.

Not sure why Dakari Johnson is not an option as a mid second round pick. It shouldn't be difficult to purchase a late first or mid second. And he's a solid big man off the bench, with enough defense to provide defensive energy off the bench.

This is more concerning

The Knicks and Love have been linked for a couple of years. Love has said playing for Phil Jackson would be intriguing. However, he will demand a maximum contract, and with Jackson hellbent on defensive big men such as LaMarcus Aldridge, Love may not be the top priority. However, a sign-and-trade with the Knicks’ No. 4-overall pick seems more plausible.

Who in their right mind thinks that Aldridge is a defensive big man? That's just silly and why would you give up a pick for a player you can sign out right? If Love is silly enough to opt in to a team that possibly doesn't want his services then let him stay in cleveland

I dont think fans realize that Phil must build a team that can make the playoffs next season. He may draft a rookie, but he isnt gonna wait for him. he's made it clear free agency is where he plans to make his mark.

Not sure if this is right, but I thought Russell was ranked 10th or 12th coming out of high school. Kentucky wanted him. He went to Ohio St so he could get more PT and shots.

I agree with you 100% about Winslow and WCS. They are my top two. Mudiay is such a question mark. But he was ranked two coming out of HS behind Okafor I believe. I think Lakers could work him out and love him. Looking at Lakers with Hill and Randle and Rumors of Love... I think they might look for a guard for Kobe to pass the torch to.

Most of the trade proposals ive seen have been pretty weak to be honest. You can still get a good player at 4 and considering what la or philly do its possible one of the top 3 will fall to us

A lot of folks want to keep the pick.

I agree that you can get a very good player at #4, but BPA is, in some ways, a meaningless term, since it varies from team to team, and evaluators within an organization will have different opinions.

Phil might take the BPA on his draft board and still be lambasted by fans who simply don't agree with his evaluation.

Who decides who the BPA is...you? me? Briggs?

I want to keep the pick, but who knows which players we'll eventually get.

This is a good question - and I think there will be some consensus picks for the top 4/5.

Best Fit is when Phil takes someone out of left field at 4, or trades down.

we should just pick the BPA at 4
