We got Calderone and Clearanthy and Larkin. Nothing great, but tyson sucked and had a 17mil pay day.
Im not sure too many teams were lining up for that!!!Now you want more than Calderon? Yesterday I contiplated selling KORS, today its down 24%. Too late. I thought of it, but I did not act on it.
Life is like that. Its easy to make deicsions based on hindsight. I have clarity on that.
It's about knowing how to value an asset and when to sell. Phil sold low on all three guys and got the worst return possible.
How would Shump and JR have rebuilt their value on a losing team with fans and the media constantly blasting them? Their value has only increased because they've been playing for a winner. Thats the way these things work- value is subjective, not always fair. The issue was never Shumps value (you could have gotten second rounder or two) but JRs negative value- that wasn't going to turn around in an extra month with us.
Tyson was sold too early, but I'm going to wait and see how Early and Thannasis turn out first (people say we need to get assets and picks but then ignore them when we do and pretend the trade was just for Calderon). However the offshoot of that is if you'd keptTyson until the deadline, then we wouldn't have gotten a top draft pick. Would you have preferred that outcome? A late first and the number 7 or 8 pick in the draft, or the number 4 pick (plus Early and Thannasis)
Prigs was sold high.
