I think we'd be lucky to add him. If we got him, Russel with our pick, healthy Melo and some nice filler, no reason the team can't compete for 8th seed or higher and perhaps a 1st round win.

Gotta admit that would be a nice Combination. Jordan is a literal beast. Just watching him on the boards and on D he's a real force. I'd make him get with the best big man coach and work night and day on just a couple of basic post moves and making passes out of the post. IMO you can't only have him be a lob catcher. Teaching someone how to throw hooks off the backboard isn't impossible IMO.

and you think that nobody ever attempted to coach him before? He is not changing his game ... he can't even figure out how to hit a damn foul shot.

Hey Amundson and Cole were never really given a chance to handle the ball in their careers and they came here and were allowed to try. Amundson actually got a little better and even tho Cole can be frustrating he was showing some signs of improvement. You have to put them in game situations and allow them to gain some confidence doing things they may never have been asked to do. Amundson was really good moving the ball and Cole did learn to make the passes in the Triangle. They weren't great but they did show some growth. Pretty much all of our bigs were taught to be pivot passers and I think it made them a little better. Acy started hitting 3's and Jason Smith started to stretch his range. You can't just assume that players will never improve.

DeAndre will never be Patrick Ewing with a soft touch. But can you hold his own on the offensive end, and develop? He's 26- that is 4 years younger than Melo.

That's what I'm saying. I realize he's not going to be the smoothest but to coach him up to be competent and confident is still possible. People forget how AWFUL Dwight Howard used to be. He's a lot better than he was. He's still no Tim Duncan but he's lightyears better than he used to be at posting up.

I think his rebounding numbers are inflated due to the fact that outside of Griffin, there aren't really any rebounders on that team- they are very thin in the front court, depth wise. Also, weren't his defensive numbers surprisingly poor until this (contract) year? I haven't watched him enough to know the truth, but I'm a little wary.

How did he play without Paul? I seem to remember the entire team excelling with Paul over the past few seasons when he was out. Maybe my memory is cloudy.

Tyson chandler seemed to excel without Chris Paul so why wouldn't Jordan. Tyson does shoot fits better but his efficiency stayed the same or even increased I think.

U really going to hang you hat on one game??..Really??..Didn't JVG once say this playoff that in cases like that, the team is essentially playing on adrenalin that gets them through a couple of games..How come the rest of the team didn't show up for the big game yesterday??..U talking Flu Tyson excelling with out Paul??..U are kidding right??..Knicks were desperate to get a defensive big and overpaid..How come the Mavs didn't reup him after a Chip??..And do u believe DJordan is worth 20 mil per???

I am talking about the times Paul has been out during the season in the past. This year he played the entire year but in the past the Clips played just as well for the most part.

I bring up Tyson because he was who he was with or without Paul just like Jordan would probably be. Do you think Tyson was a different player without paul?

About the Money no I wouldn't pay him that much but I wouldn't give a lot of players some of their contracts and their have been some players that I would give money to that wasn't worth it. Dallas made a mistake by breaking up that team. They have made several mistakes giving up draft picks and chasing Howard and D Williams. They got lucky on that kind of because at least they were not stuck with him on the books. I am just arguing he doesn't need a Chris Paul type.

Instead of saying Chris Paul, I should have said I think he needs a PG who gets into the lane to create for him to be effective on the offensive end..Tyson needed a player like Felton or he is useless offensively..Their offense is essentially put backs and lobs off penetration..I don't think he is worth the max tho...I think 14/15 is still high but more reasonable..But that said, Clippers are still over the cap and can't do anything...
