Meh! Having Felton, JR and Iman on the team as we did was a bit much in terms of cap hit. You know JR. was gonna opt in as well. Iman was the cost of getting rid of JR and it also solved our decision making on whether to give Iman a QO. In the end we can still stretch Jose if needed and get some of the cap space back. We got Early, 34th pick and Thanasis, 51st pick in the deal so IMO it was worth it overall. It takes time to really assess trades.

This had nothing to do with JR and/or Iman. It remains to be seen why we got back so little for Tyson, when Felton's contract was far from being a tough contract to swallow.

We got a trade Exception for Felton which we used to pick up Shved. Exactly who would've wanted Felton at that point in time? We were fortunate to use Tyson to get rid of Felton but also getting a Trade Exception in the process. Plus we didn't get nothing for Tyson. We got picks and players in the deal. Would've been nice to get more but it wasn't as bad as some think it was. We ended up with Larkin, Early, Thanasis and Acy who we traded Ellington for.

Larkin and Acy will not likely be on the team next year, while Thansis could've been had for cash negating the purpose of trading Tyson. Point blank, the trade was awful especially when you consider lesser Centers got their former teams' 1st round picks.

You don't know if Larkin or Acy will be back or not. You're forgetting that by drafting Thanasis, they were able to hold his rights and develop him without starting the clock on his NBA contract. Getting picks when we had none last draft was a good thing. IMO Early was a good value where we got him. I'm not trying to say the trade was a great deal. We all know it was a sell low situation, but you're attempts to piss on what we got is a bit too much. Give it a little more time to see how these players pan out before you trash the deal completely.

I'll do that but I'm batting close to one hundred in these situations involving the Knicks.

It's alright, anyone who looks at that trade rationally knows you're correct. Larkin was a throwin who we're not planning on keeping, it's why we declined his option. We're almost certainly declining Acy's option and everyone knew he was terrible anyway. The whole point of the trade was to dump Felton while bringing back players that could help us win now: Dalembert and Calderon.

I had heard very good things about Acy and he was just coming off of a great summer league performance. His previous teams reportedly loved him. I was pretty disappointed with his season though.

The only things I had ever read about Acy was that he tried hard and was a good dunker but that he didn't have much of an effect on the court. And who cares about Summer League?

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

IMO it was a good thing Phil was taking a look at young prospects who showed some promise. We brought in a lot of young prospects this year and I find it funny that after years of begging the Knicks to do that now when we do, people are kicking dirt on the prospects.

Larkin, Acy, Early, Wear, Galloway, Ledo, Shved, Sanchez, Lamb, Thanasis... the point is they took a look at a lot of young guys and you hope some pan out. You have to take a chance on guys to see how they respond to the opportunity. These are mostly low risk chances so it's worth taking a shot to see if an Acy can turn into something more. We should be applauding this approach.

Some of the kids will need more time to fully develop and now we have a farm system where we can do that more properly. There will be more young guys in the future and we'll be hoping for more Galloway types.

Really? I went to the kings and raps sites on Slicksports a lot sat summer when the trade first happened. What I read was that he was a good energy guy, couldn't get minutes and would be missed.

Yeah Acy had a pretty good rep as a high energy guy and sometimes you take a chance on a guy even tho they haven't shown much of anything in the NBA yet. No different than DeMarre Carroll who showed next to nothing his 1st few years and now he's a sought after role player. Sometimes it takes a little time. I see no problems when the price and risk is low.
