I know okafor can't jump like griffin but there are similarities in their games that will become apparent over time, griffin isn't a great shot bocker and he's a fair team defender that's what I expect out of oak-- maybe more shot blocking for oak, I expect oak to score 22-25 points a game grab 8-12 rebounds develop the 12 footer Blake has and I think oak will be the same passer griffin is

I expect oka at his peak to be a 25-27 point 10-12 rebound 5-6 assist guy. He's the 2 pick without a doubt and not trade able

Why is Okafor more comparable to Griffin over Towns?

Compared to Okafor, Towns has more athleticism, is a good shot blocker, and already has a midrange shot.

You simply just stated that Okafor can improve. That applies to any player.

Griffin coming into the league had a slew of criticism very similar to Okafor. Cant defend limited range cant block shots poor free throw shooter undersized and all of that was not correlating ultimate effect of a player. There are things Okafor cant do but his ultimate effect as a player will be huge.

Blake Griffen and OK4 are completely different talents and not comparable, while OK4 is closer to a undersized Center than a PF, especially with the way the league has changed with stretch 4's
Griffen has the shooters the space him out and has really developed a very good mid range game with his ability to handle the ball and penetrate, with this superb athleticism

While OK4 used footwork, his body, and soft touch to score

Thats funny, because I actually see D.Jordan as a comparison to OK4. Especially if OK4 is playing the Spurs.

Just like D.Jordan, OK4 will be riding the bench in the 4th quarter due to his terrible free throw percentage. Thats my only fear about him. Why let him box you under the basket for an easy 2 pts? The same with D.Jordan....why let him fly in the air for an alley oop. I rather OK4 or D.Jordan beat me from the free throw line, if I was coaching against them. But to OK4's credit, I think his free throw percentage will improve, because he's a natural scorer.

Blake has been overrated since he came into the league. I think he's finally reached his level of expectation that the fans put on him since he stepped on an NBA court. I remember some people was saying they would never trade Blake for Melo straight up. I bet those same people are now regreting that thought. Blake is more of a complete player. Towns is more of a complete player. Melo is a scoring big. OK4 is a scoring big.

But..but..he can't hold Melo's jock strap because Melo has that nice jab-step, wears a cool headband and scored +60 against Charlotte in a meaningless game.

When CP3 initially went to Clippers I remember suggesting we quickly trade Melo/Chandler for Griffin/Jordan before anyone realized how good G/J were and how bad M/C were.

About 90% of posters scoffed at how Blake was one-dimensional and Jordan sucked.

Well at least we have Melo and Calderon to lead us out of the abyss.

Blake proved who he was when CP3 went down last year. He stepped up and IMO he's matured a lot the last 2 years. This was a HUGE win for them.

im extremely impressed that they BEAT the rockets AT houston with out their BEST player
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Dunno bout that brother
This is a first for Blake G whom usually bows out of NBA playoffs each year
Until his improved play 2015

The league doesn't fear BG defense ... been bust in few yr. Advance attempts in playoffs

He will be ok but small steps in the bigger process for Blake, his Clips took huge step in gm.7

Huge fallacy--that there is actual players out there who can defend NBA bigs like Griffin. There isnt a player on Earth who can defend someone who is 6-10 260 mobile and athletic who knows how to play. Either he makes or misses but it has little to do with who is guarding him. Same thing will happen with Ok4 at the 4. As his feel for the game improves and he develops a mid range game--he will be able to showcase the passing skills he has he'll be a big rebounder and a great NBA scorer and the reality is no one will be able to stop him. CBB space is limited NBA no sir--have plenty of real estate and no double team. Lets just hope we get pick 1 or 2 and that Phil Jackson didnt make that Oklawandi joke in a serious manner. Im a little scared that Phil wont be able to translate what a 19 year old can do when he is 21-22 and on. If the team that drafted Griffin said OMG he cant defend very ell or block shots--well theyd be missing out on a considerable ballplayer. I believe Walt said in this thread that Griffin had to improve his outside shooting more--exactly what for the guy is what he is F good--why mess with it? Why do i want my PF taking 25 footers when he is great from 16 in.

Yep, I honestly don't know how or why they have kept winning this season- they have no bench, an aged Crawford, Barnes wasn't playing great this season, Jordan is pretty bad on on offense, they've had injuries to Griffin and now to CP3, but still they win

OK4 is NOT a 4
IF OK4 got schooled by Kaminksi, there is no way he can defend Blake Griffen, LA, many stretch 4's like Dirk/Bosh/AD/Ryan Anderson/Mirotic, and the SF/PF's like Lebron/Durant/Paul George/Draymond Green/Rudy Gay/Gallo etc...

I know you love height Briggs but height doesn't translate to a better team, you cannot say CA is a SG when he has trouble defending SF's and a reason why he plays better at a PF

Add in the weakness's of playing with CA and that is 2/5 spots, not even including our PG, which will likely be another weakness's to attack
He is much closer to a Center and that will even take time to work on his mobility/weight/strength

He cannot defend Al Horford/Millsap/ Carrolll or Pau Gasol and many other talents
Towns will have trouble defending stretch 4's himself who is much better on DEFENSE than OK4 but lacks the mobility to go out of the paint, especially at the NBA 3pt line, who is much better on DEFENSE than OK4

Blake Griffith, CP3 and the whole role
Players disappeared to a Lousy Rocket team
Which did what they had to do.
