Bargnani: NOOOOOOOOOOOO NO NO NO NO NO. NO. No. Nyet.

Jason Smith: I go back and forth on this. I guess for cheap he'd be okay, but I think he's very flawed and borderline useless on D.

Cole: I like his defense and hustle. Weirdly, it feels like he's one of the longest tenured Knicks at this point.

Sweet Lou Amundson: Absolutely, yes. Lunch pail guy. Hustles. Yes yes yes.

Acy: Eh. Nah.

Wear: I don't get why people like him. Never been impressed, other than that first Cleveland game where he checked Bron for a bit (it should be noted, Bron was waaaaay off his game in the early season, until about January)

Larkin: I go back and forth on Larkin. I like him, he plays hard and he's made some clutch plays and I feel like he brings a good energy at PG. He's a little short though and gets killed on D. I do like him as a change of pace guard. I'd bring him back at the right price, I think.

Shved: SHVED! I go really back and forth on Shved. He looked damn good... but with the ball in his hands a lot. And he was running a lot of pick and roll. Was that something Fisher was okay with? Was he breaking the Triangle? He's also not cheap at $4M qualifying offer and $6M cap hold until he signs that QO. I say if we can tell we aren't getting any of the big fish in FA, extend Shved the QO and see how he does for a full season in the Triangle when we are trying to win games. I would like to see more from him.

Agree......

Shved, Langston, Amundson, and Larkins are keepers

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

will post AFTER the draft as it is too hard to determine which positions we need to fill, at least the draft order, though I expect us to make some moves on draft day as well

I surely WOULD NOT offer the Qualfing offer to Shved, though I would not mind keeping him at the right price, the cap hold on him is too high to even consider
I would pay him backup money, like from 2.5m - 3.5m at best, depending if he wants security or a shorter term contract, comparing his contract to Sessions 2.2m /Bayless/and DJ Augustine 3m
If we do not acquire much Guards, he would get an opportunity to compete for a starting JOB if he chooses to stay in NYK, however, he will not be worth it to be payed STARTING MONEY

3.5m would be the most I think he would be worth but if we give him the qualifing offer it would be more than his qualifing offer and not worth that givin our lack of $$$ to spend
I would like to get Tyler Harvey as mid 2nd rounder if we can aquire one and Terry Rozier as a early 2nd rounder if he falls

However, if we draft Russell or Mudiay, the price would go lower, from about 2.5m to under 3m
I would like to try to buy low on and take a risk on Tony Wroten with his injury, like a swap of Tim Hardaway JR/Early with some of our possible FA's if they like and/or a 2nd rounder

I would consider a future 1st rounder for Wroten if Philly gave us back a couple early 2nd rounders and maybe a combination of other young talents on their roster

For SHved, I do not think he is starting material because of his defense, which makes him a suitable backup roation with a 2 PG/SG lineup
IF he does start, it would just be a TEMP job till we can find a better PG

Larkin could be kept as a 3rd string PG with a near vet min deal, with no guaranteed money for 2nd year *because it takes away our financial flexiblity, however, would guarantee that he would be kept if he signs a near minimum deal for further development/continued assestesment, we just need the financial flexibility*
He has the speed/quickness/ability to penetrate that we lack, and he can stay in front of PG's which we need, a young JJ Barea type PG/SG which uses his ability to penetrate/score to help facilitate a bit as a backup/rotation player, rather than paying Shved, if we upgrade the PG position...

I was very high on Schved based on what I knew of his actual talent. He's a flawed player but his strengths are enhanced in this kind of system. He's not being asked to be Jason Kidd or CP3 and run an entire offense. His decision making is made much simpler and that helps him to be more effective. He knows he either Shoots, Drives or passes to a post player or cutter. He's often put in the 2 man game which favors his ability to run PnR and get to the basket. He most definitely should be back IMO. Gotta hope he was told to get stronger and work on his jumper. If he improves in those areas he's a very good fit for this team.

for some defensive PGs, there are also Corey Joseph, Norris Cole, Patrick Beverely

Though I would be looking for cost efficient contracts and see who's price tag would drop and not overpay for such PG's

I am warming up to Mudiay, especially if The Lakers somehow drop, there are not a lot of teams that needs a PG and he may drop depending on the draft order, maybe TOP 5-6ish
Now if we can add Mario Henzoja or another prospect like Winslow/Russell in the process if we traded down and or other moves to acquire assets then using a future 1st rounder to move up to get 2 TOP 10 players, I would be all for it

Then using the salary on FA's this year and next summer to finish out the roster, especially with next year and the STARS with the 20m spike

Too many dudes trying to keep a role on this team. I guess it will depend on what impact players whether from the draft or free agency comes here then we can get a better perspective on who comes back.
