Great point. Does Shaw come as just an assistant though? I think Rambis is the lead assistant.

He comes as Stephansons personal advocate and spiritual coach.

This guy comes straight up for Calderon. No sweetner, no "and we'll throw in 6 months of Satilite radio!"..............
Lance is a problem and he comes for the opportunity to shine. He finds salvation in the triangle or he will languish in mediocrity with teams not wanting him because he won't be happy on the bench.

Coney Island kids do well in China I hear.

thats actually pretty good... Jose/THjr for Lance and a first rounder. Worth a shot. We get a pick (I hate THjr) and dump Jose's salary and hope like hell Lance takes this seriously

Fishmike, why do you truly hate THJ?

because he's a terrible basketball player and Im sick of people around here thinking he's good and "just needs time" or worse that somehow Fisher didnt develop him right. Even his old man knows he's soft and sucks. There is nothing about his game that says winning player. He was a nice prospect taken in the 20s and what makes those guys stick or flop is their ability to fill out the rest of their games. Defending, rebounding and passing arent bi-monthly endevours. They are for Timmy. Ill take Galloway or Shved over him anyday. If we could get a pick for THjr or use him to facilitate another deal AWESOME.

Nuggets coach Brian Shaw says he’s just “misunderstood.”

“Obviously he does some stuff out there on the floor that a lot of people don’t agree with — blowing in LeBron’s ear; and a couple of years before that when he was doing the choke sign and all of that. That’s just part of maturity with him. But it’s also part of his edge. You see Kevin Garnett on the court, and he’s always talking sometimes to the opponent, but a lot of times to himself, just trying to do what it takes to get himself pumped up to win the game. Lance is much the same way.”

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I agree with your assessment, I just think it is too early to say that he might NEVER get it. But I would trade him and CALDERON in a heartbeat to get a talent like Stephenson and a first round pick

Simply stunning how his stock has fallen since leaving the Pacers.

He was making a lot of progress with them the last two years- still in need of improvement, but the guy was a nice all-around player on a very good team.

Almost every aspect of his shooting game has gone down. He was up to 35% from 3 last year and shooting 71% from the line... those numbers are now 16% and 62%, respectively.

There is a cautionary tale to be learned, here. Folks look at this or that player and the stats they have on a certain team, and think it will translate favorably when they play for another team. There are a lot of factors, on the court, in the locker room, and off the court that affect the desire, confidence, and performance of a particular player. We all have the example of JR Smith to support this theory.

No guarantee that the good money you pay someone will result in a good performance on the court.

I would be very wary paying top dollars to a player who has had recent success without a long track record of such success. For me, that would apply to guys like Kanter and Draymond Green, among others.

I would give Stevenson a chance to prove himself if Phil and Fisher think he can play in the system we are choosing to use, especially if we can move Calderon, but I'm not sure how coming back home will affect the guy, and you have to be prepared for problems, especially since the Knicks don't have a veteran team with strong player leaders.

That dude has not been healthy all season; that is definitely the reason for his poor performance.

The Hornets are not going to trade the better talent (who has a longer contract than Calderon) AND a 1st round pick for Calderon. THJr and Calderon should work though. At this point, I'd role the dice on Stephenson for the year.

wow DNP..? I still maintain this dude just needs the right environment to blossom. I still feel he is NY material. He has the fire needed in the playoffs.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

I'd trade Tim Jr for pj hairston (still an iffy prospect but looks like he will be able to do more than just shoot badly). Lance I would consider taking if we strike out in free agency- may as well try him out for a year. I'm suspicious of him as he always played better against us (making him look better than he is) and also I remember reading an article over a year ago that said he wasn't actually as good as he looked (despite his assists, they mainly were last second bail out passes- he's actually quite selfish with the ball)

Also he came into the season over weight and out of shape- not a good sign for a guy who just signed a contract

He is only 24, eleven days older than Travis Wear. Hopefully if the Knicks got him he would mature. This experience has to be a bit of an eye opener for him. He has had difficulties in the past though so it is hard to say if he can start to transition into a more mature player on and off the court. Calderon and Tim for him isn't much of a risk at all.

He's been in the league for how many years? How many lessons does it take?
Maturity might be reached at age 50, maybe never.
Jose and Tim might not be acceptable, or on the table.

I think if you can get him for Calderon you take the chance that he might or might not get it. The upside is too great to keep Jose around in my opinion.

In his favor is that he hasn't acted up or gone on the warpath about his bench role and lack of playing time this season- maybe signs that he is maturing.
