Briggs is reacting to the opinion, no rumors btw. Anyone can start a rumor if there opinion is taken as if knowledge exists.
It seems as if either Durant and Westbrook can't stand each other and one has to go. Westbrook is a fashionista so NY is logical. He is from LA so its logical to also state lakes might want him.
OKC had a nice run but its time to turn over the assets to keep it contending. Its a one horse town and with the freshness of getting a team, then its rise to contention now wearing off the team has to stay relevant and shedding assets for new ones is one way.

Briggs is right to be worried as historically getting Durant would be a starphuckedly typical Knick move. We should be lucky his foot is problematic NOW instead of later!! KD would want a new contract as would any team getting him. One would logically think Knicks would understand nature of the injury. That or it us media/fans that don't.

When a BMW cannot be reparied via "Lemon Laws" the cars are repaired and offered for sale at a great discount. It is disclosed but very temepting to pick up a sweet model car for far less than market value.

When Alan Hahn talks-hes a pure paid stooge directly from the Knicks. Hes a "mouthpiece" he doesnt make up "exploring trading the pick or if Durant is there you MUST trade the pick" without being told too.

Thats exactly what has me worried. I guess not much can be done, just gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope that Phil is going to make us proud and remove the curse of Ewing by drafting an all-star and keeping him !

I agree. I think if you are able to draft a player you KNOW is a stud, you do it and see that process through. But you don't draft a guy just to draft him. Remember, we can only hope our draft pick blossoms into something near the level of Durant (which is unlikely.) If that happens that would be sensational. But in this case, i think if we land a top 3 pick, there is probably enough talent to justify not trading it for a player like Durant. Part of that is the reason that you will have that 20 mil in cap space to use for Love/Monroe/Milsap/Kanter etc in addition to developing a future star. But there must be an extremely high level of confidence that drafted player will indeed be a superstar.

I think the top 3 in this draft are EXACTLY the sort you don't trade away. They are building blocks on rookie deals. If Melo has a problem with it, he can GTFO. Who gives a damn about his feelings...we want to play ECF and Championship hoops, not cater to an ego.
