It's the second time this year with that foot. I worry it'll be a Yao Ming or Brook Lopez recurring injury.

If the Knicks make that trade... man... I dunno.

Right. And just because you know something is the smart move doesn't mean it'll happen either.

16 years of Dolan has made me pretty paranoid. But we traded six lotto picks for McDyess, Marbury and Curry... I think you can say it's pretty fair to be skeptical of this team.

As much sway as Phil has, don't forget Melo and Dolan have sway, too, and they are going to be very impatient and dumb, if history is to be believed.

Rondo doesn't fit the triangle, Griffin doesn't fit the triangle, and Love can be signed outright- with the cap exploding, players aren't going to want to sign for a 5th year- it no longer holds it's attraction, so there would be no reason to trade a first for him.

He's got good value even when he's grumpy Rondo. When he's happy rondo your getting one of the best guards in the game. Defensively he's still one of the best and he's one of the best rebounding and assist guards out there.

There is a downside wit him, but the upside to me makes it a gimme.

Trading the pick for Durant... yikes. I actually think they could do better if they went down that avenue to be honest

this would officially the worst move that we can.

Rondo has been a terrible player for years. TERRIBLE

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Melo wants to play with him.

Melo's people also told him Bargnani would be a good fit next to him. Would allow Melo to go back to the 3.

Since when do the Knicks operate based on logic? They are the worst team in the league for a reason. Melo and Phil are absolutely part of that, too, you realize.

He's been hurt for the last three years, much of it has been bad luck. 3 year ago before he got hurt he was very very good... 14ppg, 11assists, 5.5boards, almost 2 steals and shooting 48% and top flight defense... I mean he was at his best. He got hurt and that was the year Knicks beat Celtic in the playoffs. The next two years he's been coming back and hasnt played well over all... your right about that.

He's been up and down in Dallas. Some great some terrible.

The way Melo's injuries are treated around here, some people must really think Durant's career is on the major decline. I like Durant and believe if you have a shot at a top 3 NBA player you go for it, but would rather have the draft pick and take chances in free agency at Love, Monroe, and Millsap.

Have to remember that Hahn is trying to read the tealeaves and interpret statements Jackson has made. Phil might just be having fun by being cryptic, but sometimes you have to believe what he is saying.

Legacy... perhaps, but we are also fighting time.

We know that Phil will probably not be around after his contract is up, and he promised certain things. If he was 60 years old, and in better shape (but did not want to coach anymore) he might be reshaping the Knicks in a different way, but this is not reality.

Phil, perhaps under pressure from Dolan, also hitched his wagon to Anthony, who will probably be finished as a Knick after his present contract is done, and may even choose to bail his final year (Its debatable, but Anthony opting out could be a good thing for the team at that point. I think he put the option in so he could go to a contender if things don't work out here- I can't believe that he would think anyone would give him even more per season at that point.)

Add all of this to the fact that we don't have a #1 next year, and you have a team that is cornered into a win it now scenario, since having a lottery team does not get us a lottery pick. Nothing new for the Knicks... deja vu all over again.

This team will have to look at older free agents who can fit in with Anthony, no other way around it. We'll have some younger guys on the team, but if Phil is going to get anything big accomplished during his tenure, he'll have to sign guys who he thinks can fit in immediately, and not sign younger players we'll have to develop.

Durant will be 27 next season, not sure about how his injuries might affect him longterm, but he is relatively young, and is used to playing with a ball-dominant PG.

Some folks don't want to hear it again, but the Anthony contract is a franchise shaper and limiter, not only because of the cap space he occupies, but because you have to find players simpatico with a guy who is probably too slow for the 3, and can't provide the muscle and shot blocking help from the 4. Durant is a decent rebounder and shot blocker for a 3, and has some good length.

If you could be assured that Durant would not test FA after we get him, I could see Jackson making a deal for him, and I think that Durant and Anthony respect each other enough so that they might do a Frazier/Monroe and work things out on the court.

I prefer to keep our pick, especially if it is #1 or #2, and even #3, but I can see why Jackson would make this kind of deal.

Just unfortunate that we are in a position where we even have to consider this kind of thing.

Despite what I just said in a previous post, I would not make this kind of deal after hearing about this re-injury. Now you're talking about taking on damaged goods.

Don't think Phil would consider this either (I hope).

Walt we traded for A Mcdyess with a damaged knee for pick 7 we gave amare 100mm against mds advice--go back 15 years every stupid move conceivable ahs taken place. They haev a doctor--Callahan who says everyone is ok to play under Dolan orders. Its a fcked up team and now Dolan has Jackson taking 12mm a year to blame himself. Why would phil care?
