I definitely think the Warriors would take Walker for Dampier. In fact, I really believe the Mavs and Warriors are already working on a deal like that. Golden State definitely shouldn't just let Dampier walk away without getting nothing in return and I think that they would gladly accept Antoine in return.

All this talk of Dampier- please- he turns 30 next month and only had a good year this past season-

if we're going to use the MLE on someone, please, someone young with talent and upside.

We rebounded the ball pretty well last year, we just got outscored- and there were long stretches when this team just couldn't buy a bucket. And, just as JVG did and the Nets did to us, teams will start to double Marbury and take the ball out of his hands- who is going to make them pay?

thats why we need someone like a Crawford- someone who can handle the ball, create his own shot, break the other team down off the dribble - And, a Houston, Crawford, Marbury rotation is strong. If H2o goes down, we won't miss him- and he is the biggest question mark for next season.

Maybe Dampier has a few more years left in him- are we going to max him out for 6 years? In two years you will all be saying what a dumb move it was to sign him, how we yearn for the days when we had Eisley and Shandon Anderson and how Deke at 600 years of age moved faster.

If we end up with Walker- I think we need to move Tim Thomas- I see them as too similar in roles that they would fill for this team.

I think your vastly undervaluing Dampier. Yes he turns 30 but he still has some good years ahead of him. Plus, how can you say he only had 1 good year when last year was the first year (since his second year in the NBA) that he played over 30 minutes a game. If he had not been splitting minutes with Foyle he would be putting up better numbers. I'm sick of hearing how Dampier only played well last year because it was his contract year, thats bs because he will most likely sign with a team for the MLE (less money then he is capable of getting). Please, don't compare Shandon Anderson or Eisley that is just ridiculous, Dampier is one of the best centers in the league and signing him for the MLE would be such a steal. He is a good rebounding and shotblocking center that this team could very much use. Plus, he put up very good numbers last year in the West, if you bring him to the East and pair him up with Stephon Marbury I guarantee his points per game would easily increase even though 12 ppg is good enough anyway.

Since when is 30 old? He should have five good seasons left in him. And it's pretty obvious that he's showing no signs of aging

serious...some people are saying we should hold onto KT, yet he's 32 & making MLE money anyway...what's the issue w/Dampier?

Kurt's taken good care of his body and been consistent throughout his career; I'm not concerned about him having 4 seasons left. (Really only 3 seasons because you can easily move an expiring contract)

Damp gets better and better with each passing reply.

This guy should not get a 6 year contract from us. He turned down a guaranteed 16mm and a 18mm extension from SF in hopes of getting 10 mil a year, for what 4 years?

This is crazy for a guy with small numbers and solid history.

we might've rebounded but did we play any defense once Deke got hurt. Don't count on Deke next season because he's not a starter anymore.
