If we're lucky and draft OK4 or Towns, it will be incredibly valuable to have a player like this that they can see and go up against in practice.

Lou is in the league not because of his skills, but his heart, work ethic, brains and desire.

Talent only gets you so far. Just ask LeBron that- and I think its something he may still struggle with.

Why are you being so negative about such an unimportant thing? It's not like we're paying Lou a ton of cash. He's a role player that is giving max effort and he actually has a very good handle on the Triangle which not every player is equipped to handle. You might look down on that but really it's not a small matter for bigs in this offense to know how to move the ball and read the defense. You seem to lack a full appreciation of what Lou has had to do in order to gain minutes here. He's also put in work on his offensive game and has made HUGE improvements, that perhaps you haven't noticed.

Because it's comical.

He's our guy, so there must be something special about him.

I just think it's funny. There's a lot of kool aid going around.

Rock on, Sweet Lou.

To be fair to the OP, they wrote:

I don't care how good this guy is or how bad he is.

The dude has a huge heart and I want him on my team next year!

Love this dude!

They just like him and would like to have him around for the energy and attitude. I agree with that.

I think perhaps you're taking this the wrong way. Everyone knows who and what Lou is. They simply appreciate what he's doing. I also think you underestimate how hard it is to do what he's doing. You think just any old energy guy could do what he's doing but you're wrong about that. He has to earn his minutes by being useful on both ends of the floor or else he couldn't play as many minutes. Lou can actually run the Triangle effectively on the offensive end and he hustles and keeps possessions alive, defends on the other end as well. It's not as easy as he makes it look and he's put in work on his offensive game to improve his shooting and post moves. He's basically added a lot to his game since coming here which says a lot about him. How many journeyman have done something like that within just a few weeks of a season? Go ahead and name a few.

I'll grant Hector that part of it is "he's our guy". I remember getting amped when Junkyard Dog Jerome Williams would check in but it's not he's going to be subject of a 30 for 30 anytime soon.

But come on, dude. I haven't watched more than 40 minutes of this team all year outside of recaps, but I remember being very pleased at his energy and hustle when he was playing on that first 10-day contract.

I wish I'd seen this game last night. It's nice when it's OUR "scrubs" making career-highs, on the defending champs no less.

Big up Sweet Lou!

Substitute his name for Sweet Georgia Brown and now you have the melody of Sweet Lou Amundson to think of when watching him play.

This is NBA... even the worth players know how to play the game.
Lou get minutes and produces corresponding numbers.
He proved that he is what he is and so can be relied on for what he can do.
Knicks will need him and other players of this kind for years to come.
His role will gradually reduce as first tier players will be obtained.
Same goes for Shved and Galo.
Still 3 is not enough even for this kind of role.
We will dentally see more tryouts and hopefully some will stick around like Lou.

I'll tell you what, Acy is out of NY after this season because he doesn't have what Lou has. Heart, effort, character, smarts, moxie. Those traits are invaluable. He will be a really good guy to have around younger players.

I totally agree. People hating on Lou are living in a playstation world. In any team, sports or otherwise you need guys like this. This is nothing but a positive influence.

This guy has played on 11 teams now. That's actually pretty incredible. Think there is a reason this guy has a job playing in the NBA every year? There is. Some think he's a cast off. He's the opposite He's 32, still getting 10 day contracts and still making an NBA team. Know what? I promise you if the Knicks don't pick him up he will be playing in the league next year also.

That's why "journeyman" shouldn't always be considered a putdown. It can also mean that despite lacking elite talent you always bring something of value to the table. Lou is like spackle. When a team needs some spackle to fix some holes, they call Lou.
