1)he has a beautiful stroke.

2)he has a really sweet spin move to the right baseline where he then fades away-- an unstoppable shot that is faintly reminiscent of both jordan and ewing.

3)he shoots a very high percentage when two rub screens are set for him and he dribbles from the right to the left.

4)he's very strong under the basket rebounding his own misses.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Thanks Briggs. Next you can tell us of the 14 grade schoolers with vid highlight reels right now you would trade him for. Provided the school board accepts cash as well.

The point is 100% valid. If Carmelo wasnt selfish we couldve kept a core of Chandler Gallinari Mosgov all of our picks and we wouldve had the goods to compete. By eradicating it all in the trade--we left our cubbard dry to build the team around him--instead we continued to mortgage off assets that is still hurting us today. Truth will set you free my man--tell me this is not material fact? How many games below 500 were we before Melo got hurt this year? What was our record last year with Melo? Since we committed all of these assets for Carmelo 4.5 years ago--tell me about our playoff success?
Funny Cleveland with Lebron James Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love were NOT a good team until they got Mosgov.

no **** it's valid briggs, but it's a conversation for another thread. why can't you respect splat's wishes and keep this thread to what it's meant to be? i mean you're willing to quit the forum over him being banned, but you won't allow him to have his thread stay on topic?

I think he has great range and a very good shooter, he just needs better shot selection and more talent around him
He has a sick spin move, is very strong for his size/frame, quick 2nd jump, and a pretty good handle when a PF defends him but lacks the speed/quickness for many SF's to blow pass them
But because of his strength, he can post up on them 1v1 if they put someone quicker, though there are many other good/great/elite defenders that don't need much help defending him 1v1
He actually does have a good work ethic and has developed something/improved something every year

So while his physical abilities could decline with this surgery, I think he will still be a very good shooter and a effective player if he lets his ego go and is surrounded by versatile talents on OFFENSE and multiple verastile/mobile defenders with some veteran leadership players that he respects that can play on the court with him

His best career year was with Billups when he took the least shots and also had Nene as a post options and also has all round skills in terms of mid post/deep post/ability to hit the 17 footer, beat his man off the dribble for a PF, and has the ability to facilitate
Like Billups said, he needs a true leader as he lacks the leadership for a team, and needs 2way talented verastile/facilitators/defenders as well

BTW Briggs....Don't you think the bold comment was slightly over the top?

Also, for the last 10+ years, nobody stayed 100% honest to the thread titles. I always found that to be annoying, which is why I stopped posting new threads.

nyk4ever (off subject, my name used to be NYC4Life, not sure who came here first)....If you are going to protect a thread created by a rookie who joined in July 2014, then you just set yourself up to be the UK thread police for the entire site, especially for the OG's. Otherwise, there will be complainst of showing favortism.

OK, back to the thread....What I like about Melo?

His wife is banging!
He has enough money to give his kids everything they want, including a full ride education.
I don't know what he drives, but I'm sure it's nice....with a nice house.

Top scorer in the NBA, when he's on his game.
Is well respected by his peers.
He's an actual brooklyn born player.
He's taking on the challenge of bringing a championship back to NY.
He's willing to do whatever it takes to win. He ran the point for MDA. He's learning the Triangle system.
He's one of a few players with legit inside / outside game.
He's a good rebounder.
Seems like a good dude to hang with. I should know since I saw him in the club years back. Man, can't believe how tall he is in person.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

briggs, that's not what this thread is about. if you want to make a thread about that kind of thing, do it elsewhere.

Dont tell me what to do. I can post here--Im asking a legitimate question. I have been a Melo supporter--no bash here. But the honest question--would anyone trade Carmelo for pick 1-2?

ugh ... seriously? How can even ask such a question with a straight face?

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Wasn't there a poster that showed up right around LeBron's first free agency countdown, maybe after and would only talk about Melo coming to the Knicks??..He was persistent at the time and Melo wasn't even on the radar...He also sounded like he had good inside info??..Anyone remember the poster??
