I remember back in the 90's when Iverson was the second biggest HS star in his state after Ronald Curry. Remember him, the 2 sport star who was a bust in both sports!
Speaking of making in the NBA....There was a guy named Marion Cash who grew up around my way. He was the pg for Clemson back in the late 80's early 90's. In fact, he was the pg on the Clemson team that lost to Uconn in the tournament on that miracle last second shot by Tate George. Cash averaged about a modest 10 pts a game at Clemson over his career.
When he came home during the summers and played in various summer leagues in Harlem and in the Bronx, he would average close to 35 pts per....He was virtually unstoppable in any tournament he played in. Looked like Jordan of the playground. After watching him, I realized how difficult it really is to make it in the pros...
