Yes he does; people always criticize the dude for shooting too much. Never the same criticism of Durant:)

He didn't ask about critics. He asked about haters.

In sports, I believe the two terms are analogous.

Does that mean you can't be critical of a player you like??!!

I suppose that the age of Self-Esteem has made it difficult to be critical without being seen as a hater, and younger people today don't seem to take criticism too well. If you sat down and talked to him about his game, I'm sure he would go over a number of things he would want to improve.

The guy is a great player with a few flaws... no other way to put it, and when you are comparing MVP quality players, folks tend to bring up the negatives at times.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Westbrook is classified as a passing PG....

Durrant is a classified as a Scoring Forward....

Just curious, is that your birth year 1969?

westbrook is classified as a passing PG?

Yes.....thats what PG's do.....PASS.

And thats why I've said this a long time ago.....The PG position is becoming extinct. In about 10 years or so, that position will no longer exist. The league will only have two positions....GUARDS AND FOWARDS.

Once you classify Westbrook as a PG, he will have haters. If he was classified as a SG, he wouldn't have as many haters.

That dude is a two-way player; he can afford to shoot the ball as much as he does. Specifically, when others are not scoring the ball as they should.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Not following at all ...

maybe Westbrook is more fit to be a 2 guard however, his shooting has never been good enough especially from 3 and he seems to need an incredibly high Usage and would probably sulk off the ball.

He is playing now at a freaky level right now so if he keeps this up, who cares what his position is.

Harden is also a Hybrid however, a far more efficient one. Do you think that OKC would trade Westbrook for Harden straight up right now? Of course they would in a heartbeat.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

"Back in the day" you didn't really have the positional distinctions etched in stone like we do today. Less specialization, I suppose. Kind of like it back then.

I would not trade Westbrook for Harden. Westbrook is by far the more complete player out of the two.

I have a soft spot for Russell as I really coveted him coming out of the draft, I knew we had no shot. He and Harden are comparable talent and impact wise I think. Westbrook plays defense and can lock you down in crunch time. Harden fills the stat sheet a bit more I think but hasnt shown that part of his game (D) as much.

I think Westbrook is seeing the same knocks Melo deals with. Everyone sees the great talent and ability to impact the game, does he make the other guys better? Can he be the best player AND lead?

Saying westbrook isn't a point guard isn't being a hater

prior to yesterday, he's record is 2-7 during the triple doubles and 40 point games. You can not win like that in the long run.

Harden has been miles better this year on defense. I saw one game where he was even guarding bigs like zach randolph.

Harden is certainly still the better player and far more efficient.

well he's having an MVP year, hard to find much to knock Harden on. There isnt much Harden cant do on the court rigt now. His next level needs to happen in the playoffs where he has been awful the last couple years.

agreed. he still has a lot to prove in the playoffs. If he will pull another no show and chuck away then that will count against him as it should.

Also, people seem to ignore that he played really well for 3 seasons in the playoffs in OKC. Much harder when you are the number one guy.

It is all depend on what you like in a player. Some like guys like Carmelo or Harden who can flat out score the ball, some like all around players like Kobe, Lebron, Wade type players who can affect many parts of the game.

Russell's desire to win is right up there with Kobe and Jordan

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Harden is an SG averaging 6 boards, 7 assists, 2 steals, and a block a game.

with a (consistent) TS of > 60 every year, upgraded defense ... etc ... WS48 is freaking .273

If one chooses to look away from everything and just say "I don't like the guy" or "Felton was just as good given the playing time" then so be it. People just like to say things and listen to themselves type.

I would be more then glad to have either of the two in a Knicks uniform. They are both currently better then anyone on our roster (including Carmelo).
