Jose is one of the few players with inside connections with the Gasol brothers. He's the only bait we have to landing Gasol. There's probably an inside connection we don't know about. IF we get Gasol next season, then Jose's contract and trade was well worth it. Phil's plan is to cut salary. Why save 300K on Pablo, when he could've saved a lot more cutting Jose. Theres a reason behind the madness......And usually fans do not have the same insight.
Dude, seriously? Get a grip; Gasol will NOT come to NY. Not with an unproven coach like Fisher. If Phil were coaching, I would say that we would have an excellent chance to ge him here.
OK.....I will try to be as clear as possible. I don't care about Calderon or Gasol. I'm not the GM that traded for Calderon. So your energy is pointing in the wrong direction. Calderon came here for a reason. Phil would not add a player that takes up cap space, if he didn't think that player would do two things.....Be a solid rotational PG and possibly bring his best friend (Gasol) to NY. Phil wouldn't add Fisher if he didn't think he could bring two things.....A solid foundation of the triangle. And the potential to bring in KD in 2016. Pay attention to how Phil operates and you might learn something. When Phil makes any moves, its usually for two or more reasons. He makes moves for short term and long term. Every single move has been like that since he came here. All I'm doing is trying to simplify it for you since it's so complicated for you to understand. And you're not alone. Most of the Knick fans are either stuck on the current record or finally understanding the long term strategy. So if anybody should get a grip, it should be you. In fact, this is the best time for you to jump ship. Nobody would care!
