Just as foolish to not predict it. What's he gonna say? Team sucks and won't make playoffs?

Injuries and players not buying in sunk the ship. It's evident by how JR started playing in Cleveland that he should've played better but you know... partying. In the end it's really water under the bridge. It's fun for some to bash Phil but otherwise pretty meaningless at this point. That team no longer exists and we're on a new path. The next 6 months are going to be so interesting to see what transpires. Phil's Knick Prez legacy will be largely dictated by what happens in the next 6 months. The failures of the 1st few months won't really matter if he gets this right this summer.

Yet, some around here don't see value on keeping this dude. I love the hustle and sacrifice he makes for this team. Give him a three year contract; he embodies what NY is all about

I commented in the London game (I believe his first) that he was the best player on the floor.

Imagine a taller Admuston or Langston in our front court? That is why I would love to draft STEIN.

I agree that Stein could totally change the defensive posture of this team. At that point every solid defender we add becomes even more effective with a long and rangy paint defender like Stein. IMO he's NBA ready. With the way the team is playing since the trade we may end up with a slightly lower pick. As long as it's in the top 5 I think we'll be just fine. Okafor, Russell, Towns, Mudiay and Stein are the guys i'm most interested in.

I don't like Mudiay. I would love to have a combo of Russell and Stein. Would that even be possible?

I see no way Phil could get a pick high enough to grab both. However there are some really good guards later in the draft who can be solid NBA players IMO. If Phil can somehow get another pick, he could land a kid like Delon Wright, G, Utah, 6-5, Sr.

I love Russell's game. He can shoot with the best of them, and can run the team efficiently.

Beats the usual mantra from every Knicks top exec since Dolan bought the Knicks, no matter how poorly the they were playing, "I like our team".

The only real mistake Phil was was taking Calderon's contract. I didnt think we would be a lottery team but i figured 35 wins given the talent(or lack there of) and bad contracts. I applaud Phil for getting cap space and having a future plan. But i think PHil realizes Calderon was a mistake

Halfway thru the season has been a disaster. The record speaks for itself.

Does the Triangle so complicted that players will repel from it because its "complicated"?
If Phil can't get guys ere except for money then it will be a problem.
If Phil can't draft a guy that gets it, it could be a problem.

Can't say Im loving what has happend, but what can we do? Hire the mystical Popovitch deciple and what does he do differnt?

IM gonna wait it out. Often the path least taken is the path is the path to success. The path of least resistent is the path usually taken by the masses. The Masses are unremarkable.

I dont think its been a disaster, that would be a situtation that hurt our future. Rather has simply been a failure. We all knew cap space was important. We all knew Amare/Jr/Bargs were not part of the future. We were pretty sure Shump wouldnt be either with his cap hold etc... what we did hope was that these guys in their last year here would play like guys in walk years looking for new contracts and hopefully play spirited basketball. That has been a failure. The hope of getting production from the guys on their way out the door yielded nothing. OK... we move on. Use the situation to build the bottom of the roster and find some youtheir guys who can play in the system and look OK.

The real disaster or success will start with next year's roster. Does Phil draft a bust? Do any FAs come here? Does the triangle scare players away?
