The dude was not getting consistent minutes, that is why his numbers looked bad. He is now getting minutes and playing for a contract; why freaking not? Pay the dude. He is a good kid with a strong head on his shoulders that all of his coaches love to have. Most importantly, he and the other dudes are all following Carmelo's leadership...

Really? How do you know this?

Yup lets commit to him cause he played a decent game.

Phil, I really hope that you are reading my posts.

You don't really have the most time with these 10 day contracts. Also the commitment we made Galloway and one we might make to Thomas are the smallest in the NBA. This is why you have 10 day contracts and minimum partially guaranteed contracts. Giving him a roster spot and guaranteeing him 150k next year is what for the NBA? If we let him go--we may lose out on a very decent piece we could have for the cost of a roster hold. No brainer.

Again Thomas, Lou, and Galloway cost peanuts and if we get rid of caldron, prigs ... Brags and amare are goners by the trading block ether waive or trade... We can find more high iq hard working players to fill out the bench for more peanuts giving us a solid team with two more max players and a draft pick

those kind of moves could add up.. which is the danger.... i mean say we give lance thomas AND lou amundsen the same contract but then they ALL turn to be terrible players... that's now 1.5 million tied up in next years cap in terrible non-roster worthy players...

now i don't happen to think galloway is terrible and i don't think we'll give amundsen a guarantee for next year but you can start to see where just handing out a half million here or there for fringe players can start to impact you're flexibility....

the end of the roster matters too...

This dude is probably the same dude who was willing to offer Shumlert a boatload of money:)) on the real, a two year contract is advised when dealing with these dudes. If they turn out to be special players, well be it. I like the new guys...they are smart players who can play at both ends of the court.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I can't wait for the end of the season. It is painful to watch Amare, Bargnani, Calderon, and even Jayson Smith play. Although I must acknowledge that Jayson has been playing with a little more gusto the last few games. I don't know what have gotten into him, but he has been a different player since Admunson's arrival.

If he balked at Galloway who has proven himself (a bit) in the d-league, you think he will just hand out contracts to all of the 10 day crew?

One thing I do see is that I have no idea wtf Phil will do and he is a helluva lot smarter than me.

He has a plan that I sometimes find very odd and off beat but he is much smarter than we are (outside of F5 of course).

We have no idea whats going on in that funky head of his.

I love what he is showing here with the 10 day crew, especially on defense.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Thomas will be signed fisher loves him not sure about Lou but I wouldn't be shocked if he is as well, like Phil said he's here to change the culture and to get rid of the players that don't fit, and build a championship contender ... And every championship team has a solid bench and players like Thomas ,Lou, Galloway is a great start. I'm excited cause next year were going to be real good..

Serious question:

Why are some people so riled up about signing these players to minimum contracts? As far as I do understand it, we have capholds for every non signed player untill we have a roster of 15. So signing those guys to minimum contracts does nothing to our ability to sign the bigger free agents, right? We either sign LG, Thomas, even Lou or we have to put the money aside and find guys like that next year anyhow. Why not sign them now as we see they fit and work hard for the fraction of money other players will receive?

If we dont, the search starts anew and we might end up with players not fitting what we plan to do here. And yes, I would be totally for cutting dead weight like bargs to try out some more of those 10 day guys. I hope if we cant get them (bargs, Amare, Acy, etc.) traded by the deadline that is exactly what will happen.

Might have to do with:

The fact that he was coming off of an injury;

The fact that we are running the triangle more effectively, and Galloway, Thomas, and Amundson are all guys who buy into the system like Jason Smith does. Smith is s decent passer, has a nice midrange jumper, and his D has improved as the season has gone along. Had some horrible games in the beginning of the year, but looks much more confident in a system that others are not beginning to follow.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Exactly
Minus Manu any of those players stars or even close to it
No but they all know there role and are good role players

Now the Knicks

With a bench of Lou,Thomas, thjr is a good start get rid of the rest of the jokers
And we could potentially have a bench of
Lou,Thomas,green,thjr,Steph curry,early,Greek,

Starting Galloway,Mathews,melo,milsap,draft pick

Think about how young that team is and that starting 5 is awesome ! Curry and thjr can nail threes off the bench , Thomas can hit the mid range and play great defense, green is a very solid pf on both ends of the floor, Lou brings what he brings energy, rebounds, defense. And two nice prospects in early and Greek .

The starting five speaks for itself solid backcourt defense and three point shooting, melo, milsap, fingers crossed ok4,towns,or stern you could even start Lou while the draft pick learns ...

This is why it's so important to get rid of Calderon, get rid of expensive crap for cheaper hungry bench and with our cap space we can sign two names be that milsap or Mathews or what ever two Phil wants... solidify the bench cheap ...and find some team oriented max guys to fill out the starting line up.

If we had a bench of Thomas 500k, Lou500k,thjr 1.3 ,Seth curry500k,lamychael green500k, early under 1 mil, Greek for next year none of those guys except thjr are even making a million for the year

Is that a entire bench for around 5 mil give or take ? And a good one at that!

Think of all the $$ we will have to sign the likes of Mathews, milsap, a center or try and steal a few restricted like butler or d green Phil should have options to build.. Which would be awesome

You know what's even a worse bench then that having a guy like jr chucker on the bench for 6 mil bringing the rest of the team down or crybaby shump or a gimp in amare at 22 mil and a shell of a player in brags for 11 mil ..

Lou seems like a glue energy guy hard working role player
Thomas is a great defender and can play within the system and hit the mid range
Lamychael green is a solid player with a high motor on both ends. Watch tape
Thjr is a solid 6-7th man off the bench
Seth curry is a lights out shooter and can be a serviceable back up pg
Early is a project with a high ceiling
Greek is a freak on defense high energy guy

That is far from a bad bench.. It's filled with high IQ players. the worst in the history of sports .. Lol come on man jr smith and shump with prigs, amare, brags, Calderon is the worst bench of over paid garbage

Time to sign lance Thomas to the same contract as Galloway
