Does b1tching about the b1tching count as b1tching too?

Seriously, I think winning is important to attracting FAs. I don't think the difference between going .290 and .190 will matter though. If we improve to the .400s and compete for a playoff spot, that would help but we have to go like .700 the rest of the way for that. Or if we're planning to trade Melo, then he needs to keep playing.

Yeah, trade Melo. Men must have happy little dreams to stay alive, I suppose.

Bitching about losing is one thing. Bitching about bitching is another.
But bitching about winning is pure PMS.

Not really. Those people care about the success of the knicks starting next year. Lets face it this year was over a while ago so it makes sense to get the best possible draft pick along with our cap space which will make our team a playoff team sarting next year. So its not bitching its more showing passion for the team to do be as good as son as possible

Don't understand this stance. There will be very good players available in FA. Butler is a top tier FA but there will be other very good players we can add. Phil won't blow all of his cap this summer.

I don't mind spending some of the money on a top SG at all. I just don't want to overspend again on a front court player when we can draft and develop one this year. We can reap the benefits of finally having a big during his prime years. Milsap & Monroe don't excite me if we don't add a top notch SG and draft a big first. Nothing wrong with sitting tight until 2016 if we have to and going after guys like anthony Davis and Durant

I want either Russell or Okafor

We need to keep in this bottom 3 pack we need for Melo to take the rest of the season off.

No!

We need to show FA's that this is a positive place with a positive culture.

Come here and play hard and you will fit right in and be idolized.

If we like sweet Lou, could you imagine how much love we have for a star that plays the right way and has heart?

Draft where we draft ...

Build a culture ...

Thats very important.....I wonder how Phil will spend Dollans money. Go all in this year....next year....or a combination of both?

assuming this is sarcasm free and I agree 100%

Knick fans have been in an abusive relationship for a long time. They are DYING to love this team and its a city that has always embraced hard workers and hard nosed players.

Melo is shutting it down post AS break. We will finish with a bottom 4 record. We will get a good player in the draft. Winning a few games along the way is a good thing. These guys are working hard and deserve it

Yea I think you can build a playoff team with this year's free agent class but if Phil wants to contend with the big boys of the east and west he is going to need top notch talent surrounded by role players that fit. And no one knows this better than Phil

he's eluded to NOT signing splashy tier1 guys and instead doing more building. Should be very interesting how it all plays out

Or maybe it's just passionate PMS about this year that's already over. Enjoy the wins, the working, the D, the yoots from nowhere.
If nothing else, a few wins have muffled the "Let's Hang Fish in Effigy" crowd.

You want things to be as good as soon as possible? How's right now sound? Did you think Mr Fat Ass (Copyright Fish LLC, 2015) and this crew of misfit toys were going to stand up to Mr. Almost Not Second Fiddle and a team that's been to the Finals? Even in an almost meaningless regular season game?

Next year is next year. You could be transferred and be a Clippers fan next year, for all you know.

I was actually leaning towards Mudiay, based on upside. Mudiay is a high risk high reward pick over Russell. But Russell is a safer pick, if you are looking for a real PG that actually knows how to pass and shoot....With a good handle to create shots. Similar to Irving scoring 50......I can see Russell having that same impact.

I can also see Mudiay having a similar impact. But the key with Mudiay is to improve his jumper and team play ability. Mudiay is very similar to John Wall, when he was a rookie. But as John worked on his jumper and matured, he's now becoming an impact player with his passing. So it comes down to who would you rather have right now?

Irving or Wall? Which is similar to Russell or Mudiay?

I'm now leaning towards Russell, because he has that feel for the game at a very young age.....And some people (cough...cough...JR Smith) never reached that level of play, as for as feel for the game as a team player. One on one....JR is up there with the rest of them....But who has a better chance at making their teamates better is the key........Who can play with Melo is another key. Mudiay needs the ball to be affective right now.....Russell can play on or off the ball....and already has a solid 3 pt shot to keep defenses off balance. With Mudiay, everybody will make him a jump shooter, and this is when his impact can be shaky.....

Again, I have some experience on this subject, since I'm a guard who can shoot from deep, or take it to the hole....and I love to pass. It's a wonderful feeling when you know the defense has no idea if you are going left...right....or pullup. Russell seems like a much younger version of me.....and 5 inches taller. So my final answer is............

RUSSELL.....I have to agree with you Briggs....Which you know is rare, but recently I've started to see what you see.

And depending on who's available in FA.....and how they do during March Madness.....I wouldn't be surprised if Russell went #1.

Whats interesting is if you look at the early predictions....Russell didn't even crack the top 15.....And if you read this article from June of 2014....They have Mudiay as the #1 overall pick.....OK4 number #2 .....Stanley Johnson #3.

good post... I enjoyed reading. But what are you basing you Mudiay predictions on? It seems like there is so little of him to see.

Russell... feel for the game. The guy is not only very skiled but he's got such good spacial awareness... he has an innate feel of where guys are and where they are going. He just looks fanstastic and despite how many shots he takes seems to let the game come to him, doesnt force.. he looks great.
