Yup, and the same offenders will do it over and over and over again. Once a player joins the Knicks they magically become the most toxic thing ever and we'd be lucky to pair them with a first rounder just to get rid of said player. JR was far from a stud and I'm not even against the trade where we gave him up for nothing, but he's not the worst player in the league like all the drama queens would harp on about.

It's all about the system a player plays in, some posters feel like a player should fit into any system, Which is so far from reality it isn't even funny.

You put steph curry in this triangle non sense, and they'll be begging to trade him the hell out out of here. You look at a guy like Lance stephenson, he's game is not suited for the sht they run in Charlotte, it is what it is.

OK4 will be a disaster in the triangle, he needs shooters all around him, he's more suited for a MDA/GSW type system.

Nonsense, one of the big parts of the triangle is having a big man who can post up and have great passing ability which Okafor can certainly do

can he knock down the 15 footer with consistency out of the high post?

Hell no. I was watching this dude the other day he can't shoot and has other deficiencies too.(Towns fan) but I'm making a case that he does have a skill set that has potential to be good in the triangle.

triangle bigs need to be able to shoot to be effective

so here is what phil is thinking ....

During Bulls vs Cavs telecast reported from sideline[maybe Rachel Nichols]

Smith admitted while here in New York he went out too much

Partied too hard and allowed the outside to distract him from basketball

He says in Cleveland it's so boring all you can do is play

Video Games and go to the gym to work on your game, there's nothing to do in Cleveland

I guess this is the gift and curse of the lifestyle in NYC

There are always off the court distractions from Digital to Sinful

J.R. partied on our watch and is a professional on Cavs watch[for now]

Cleveland probably could trade him right now and get back a better asset than a 2019 2nd

That's on him. the dude is a grown ass man for crying out loud and it is a damn shame to hear that it took a change of scenary to a place with less distractions to force him to be a better basketball player.

I agree that is why I said he had the potential to be good in the triangle, not great, not WILL be, but the potential to be good.

DeAndre Jordan being compared to Bill Russell? P

How can you say they could get more? Based on your personal quest to claim your stake as the top "I TOLD YOU" guy?

JR said two years ago he was done with the party scene. Its the same crap with him.
No doubt the team is far more intense then the knicks and he can't be the clown anymore.

Jr and His video game can have fun in cleveland.

Easier said then done, I live in Maryland suburbs for the last 7 years, and the things I have accomplish here, I was never discipline enough to accomplish living in the east village. I went out damn near every night with my room mate, and if you've been in the east village, there's a lounge/bar every 50 feet. I saved money one month, and spent it the next.

I have been to at least 30 states in my life, had a job that kept me on the road (only time i saved money) and aside from CA, Nevada, and N O, everywhere else sucked, and there was never sht to do but stay in the room.

I clearly understand what JR is talking about, I would see ball players at all the trendy spots, starks, greg anthony, mason, pipen, dale davis, spree, jeter, you name them, there were there.

My pops always tells me, these players that come to NY, party and hang out too much, can't stay focus for more than a game or two, thats why developing young players in NY never works

And Mozgov started at C and got 15 points and 15 rbs.
It's a little funny and sad that the Cavs new starting lineup, which finally has them winning, is using JR Smith and Mozgov to compliment their big 3.

Our problem for years, decades even has been fit- we seem to assemble rosters add hoc with parts that don't complement each other- it just makes players look worse.

This... Thus the clumsy roster comment from Phil.

Loved Mosgov. For no good reason I liked having him on the squad.

On the topic of bigs in the triangle and needing to shoot.... Didn't Phil win 3 titles with Rodman at the 4?

I keep hearing some pretty rigid views on why guys won't fit in the triangle...

there are exceptions for 20 rebound per game guys who are all defensive first teamers.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I thought that started to change when guys like Duhon, Amare, Lin, and felton played lights out the 1st couple of months under MDA, that is until he ran them ragged for 44 minutes a night.

Longley was the Center and he could shoot

The gap between Lebron and Melo is galactic

I also think Blatt knows more than what their

Playing with team mates that can penetrate/facilitate changes the entire game up for him or anyone
So does playing with a Center that can score/post up
The difference between playing with Lebron and CA is night and day, including leadership, defense, understanding of the game/BB IQ, ability to facilitate/penetrate/post up, and actually draw double/triple teams and being able to find the open man

CA does have the better shot and more range over Lebron, however, when his shot is off, he will always try to shoot himself back in

Well when

Irving and MosGoV

or

Lebron/MoSgOv

run's the PnR together, which help defender is going to help?

Irving
JR Smith
Lebron
Love
MosGoV

Same as with Tyson's trade
We didn't have leverage as they both were consistently playing poor for us

So what they did after the trade is irrelevent because they would have continued to suck while on our roster, especially running a system that they couldn't execute as a whole together
That was why I was against JUST RUNNING The Triangle with this roster when they clearly were not getting it or had the skills/post presence/IQ needed to just run the triangle
It is what it is...

JR's play hasn't really changed he is still shooting a lot of 3s and a lot of them on certain days can be absolutely stupid shots, but his immense talent is being utlilized a lot by Cleveland.

He's better overall and you can tell on the other side of ball
