Nelson didn't screw the Knicks the Knicks did it to themselves. When losing isn't a priority when a team is going nowhere and those meaningless wins do nothing for the team. It's the Knicks fault for not taking the draft seriously enough.
My first preference would be Towns but he's got to show me more for pick #2. Its too risky to guess that high. I think he needs to have 2-3 dominant 20-10 games to show he has the goods. I like him--but how could we draft him based on what we have seen so far. hes had moments and hes also been invisible at times. He had one stretch over 40 minutes/2 games where he had 5 points. I think to be considered for #2 or #3 you need to put 12-15 points in the basket every night with solid rebounding and shot blocking. You need consistent bonafide play--he has time but he needs to show a LOT more.
I agree very tough to gauge Towns due to lack of PT. He reminds me of when Deandre Jordan was coming out. Mock drafts had DeAndre #1 but he dropped to second round. Towns won't go second round but he may fall anywhere from 4-10 range.
As for Russell there is a lot to like about his game, but I'm not seeing the athleticism Mudiay exhibits. I think Phil can take Mudiay's athleticism and take it to a higher level. Phil's system always had a do everything shooting guard.
