Rumored The Russian would sell part of the team.
The goal was to WIN NOW and establish the brand. The valuation of the team win or lose is HUGE.
The russian is not losing on this deal.
Regarding the team, On paper Garnett and Pierce were to take them over the top and establish a culture.
DWill has looked good this year and has played in all games. I'd say the signs are encouraging.
Bropez foot is similar to what Kurt Thomas had early in his career and he played until he was 40. His back issue likely is just an injury adjusting to the rigors of playing a lot of basketball after being out two years.
Joe Johnson is a beast.
This team on paper should be better but they have chemistry issues. Part of it is they have not played that much together. KG is cooked. Plumlee has regressed or they are not using him properly. Dude was riding high on team USA but something is not clicking in Hollins offense.
There three contracts are the highest paid trio in basketball!!!
While Billy King has all kinds problems one would assume his ass should have been fired by now. If you owner told you to do this, really its not just on Billy is it?
I'll give Nets credit, they went all in during an era with a hard cap!!! I thought Knicks was crazy in the Isiah era but the Russian and Billy went way beyond. Granted, they did beat Toronto and get to the second round and have made the playoffs. Isiah traded picks that were unprotected.
The picks are a disaster if the team falls into the bottom third.
The problem is trading with teams that don't have cap space or what you get in return. We really can't move Amare because of this!!
Deron has to prove he is back to elite play, and in all fairness his ankles are much improved this year. He lost his mojo last year and it takes a bit of time to get it back.
Bropez if healthy is a valuable commodity. Its a big question and history is not always telling of the future.
Joe Johnson at age 30 seems like a freight train.
Way too early but Cleveland and the Nets should consider moving parts. Cavs goal is to win a chip and while Kyrie is a great player they should think long and hard about the chemistry of their team and if a chip is even possible. Deron (if healthy) is a better PG then Kyrie and in that role COULD be a better fit. That trade actually makes Nets worse as Kyrie is really another version of Iverson. Cavs have to consider the short window that they have with Kevin Love. He could walk if the place stinks and Kyrie might be the problem.
20ish games in the season is not time to panic. Miami needed a time in its first season in the "super friend" era as well with a rookie coach. Lebron is a smarter guy as well. Cav's and Love might be all just fine with how long it would take to get the chemistry. One season might not be enough.
Fans want more, but we all know about that.
