The Knicks have zero chance to get Stephenson in a trade. Zero.
His team has to consider that you can't just turn around a trade a player in his circumstances ( i.e. he's not a fringe acquisition ) right after they signed him. That's bad form for the organization, bad for dealing with his agent and future agents, bad for dealing with future free agents. Nothing good comes out of it.
Also there are simply better trade options than the Knicks if Rich Cho and Micheal Jordan decided that Stephenson had to absolutely leave.
New player, new system, needs time to adjust.
Stephenson will just have to eat bad press. He got into it with LBJ in the playoffs and sadly with the branding power of LBJ, and his association with Nike, etc, which as influence over the sports media, it was inevitable that Lance would take some bad press. This is like the kid who dunked on LBJ and James and his people got the tape confiscated.
Bynum was suspended and traded by the Cavs last year so it isn't like this sort of thing hasn't happened in the past. Not sure that the Hornets are giving up on Lance. Lance had bad press before the LBJ stuff in the playoffs. I think he is getting some bad press now because his coach called him out to the media not because of anything that happened last year in the playoffs.
