so long as carmelo anthony is a knick it's best to not squander draft picks if it means having to fit them around his ridiculous contract and tin-plated game. my list of players to bring on board in the next 3 seasons until melo has completely broken down:

marvin williams
oj mayo
alonzo gee
drew gooden
carlos boozer
tyreke evans
jamal crawford
rudy gay
shabazz napier
brandon jennings
josh smith
alan anderson

why do you want your favorite teams best player to break down, why would you sign anyone of those players for more than a Buck, Explain to me why do you want your favorite team to be bad, to be horrible,. Why wouldn't you want one of your favorite teams to do well, to succeed, to finally get on track.

why do you want your favorite team to suffer because they sign a player you don't like, why not just stop being a fan of the team and save yourself the hardache.

why why why why why

zzzzzzzzz....

this is coming from someone who believes Danillo Gallinari is a better player for the money.

I have mixed feelings. I dont believe losing helps, but I do believe drafting higher than lower DOES help. If we could get a high pick and draft one of these bigs who are very high quality it could really be a game changer. We arent winning crap this year... I think when you look at this roster its obvious. Could we grind out enough wins for the 8th seed? I think we could but I also think thats not the plan either. If it was they would be playing Amare 30 minutes and riding guys like Prigs more. Instead they are just fine with letting guys like Wear and Larkins take their lumps.

I used to take some solace in losses like this as it was what I felt, a bottoming out that could wake Dolan up.

Now with Phil here, I'm not exactly in that same place. I like Phil and I like Derek.

But the best way for this franchise's fortunes to get turned around is by adding talent, there there is no FA talent that is franchise changing talent.

The only way to add that is through the draft - and there is no guarantee that with top picks in the next five years we would find it, but the %'s are definitely there.

TANK AGAINST THE TANKERS!

Lets see who can Out Tank the other!

Go Knicks!

we will have the same problems against them like we did against minny. they're both young teams... they'll steal the ball multiple times in passing lanes thanks to our overrated guards. they'll run our older players out the building. fisher will end up playing 11-12 players in the game.

it's the same story in the knicks losses... drive and kick the ball out to a wide open 3 pointer by the opponents. i wouldn't be surprised if we are the team that has given up more 3's than anyone in the nba. coming to the offense, we couldn't beat a team that has given 130+ points in the last 2 games before they played us..... what does that tell you... we are horrible on offense as well. that may improve with calderon on saturday, but statistically we should be even worse on defense.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

same... the worse the embarrassment the better it was to see Dolan's nose rubbed in poop, but I 100% agree with you. I like Phil and especially like Fisher and dont want to see them take lumps but this really only has to be a one-year tank (sorry, "adjustment").

Looking at this draft I really want one of these centers. Obviously OK4 is a gem and could be another Duncan type player but man o man could we really use a nice young piece from this draft. If we are picking 10-12 is most likely Gallo/Chandler caliber, but if we pick in the top 5-6 we could come away with a legit corner stone type to bring along with the guys they throw money at.

Time will tell... in the meantime at least we have Melo to blame for everyone.

I'm never going to trust a draft pick as a safe bet, it's been the biggest let down yr after yr after yr. We haven't drafted a keeper since EWING 30+ yrs ago..

2 out of 30 teams have been successful building through the draft in the last 20 yrs, and while OK4 seems like nice player, he's more likely to end up on consistent lottery team, then one trying to contend.

But your right about fish, he's just show casing guys, the 15 man rotation is a clear sign of tank mode.

We are a consistent lottery team--weve been in the lottery 12 out of 15 years!

Now we're talking. Every champion has one cornerstone they drafted. Agree with both of you

why even go there? he's been out of the game for 19 months. how about derrick rose?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Players I'd rather have then Melo:
Vin Baker
Herb Williams
Patrick Beverly
Hasheem Thabeet
David Lee
Kwame Brown
Greg Oden
Chris Bosh
Nerlens Noel
Steve Novak
Landry Fields
Toney Douglas
Andrew Toney

I hope we lose every game for 5 years. Then we'll truly have a chance to be great.

And Melo will be gone.
