Great point.

And that was a mistake. For years the Islanders shut out their past players...that franchise quickly fell into the toilet. Oppossite end, for years the Yankees embrace their past players...that franchise has won more championships than any other sports team.

I just always wonder how any player on the Knicks with Clyde sitting right there in front of them night after night can not ask a question or two of him. Even Breen said it doesn't even have to be about basketball; could be about handling New York and the fans, media, circus, fame...anything. But no player has ever asked Clyde for anything. As I said, it goes back to the "I-know-everything" mentality in these new athletes.

Stupid franchise makes stupid mistakes. It pains me to see Patrick Ewing a member of a different organization.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. Some of you guys are talking crazy talk. Walt Clyde Frazier has always been the coolest Knick. I <3 Patrick, of course but, yo! Patrick was never this cool: http://upnorthtrips.com/post/1315971884/the-walt-clyde-frazier-dictionary.

All we ask is that current players reach back to guys like Clyde and pick their brains about the suttle nuances of the game.

Some of these views are WAY OFF BASE on Clyde lack of involvement.

first of All Frazier is true blue and he was a champion x2
He would love the young players & org. to have some of his feedbacks,
he would love to help from even in M.Dantoni yrs and pre MDA years
from my understanding the entire org. above from JDolan do not want
any of Frazier views or his support of what they want to do,

The concept of Knicks brass has been relayed over the yrs to coaches
and even the semi-successful P.Riley years Riley was more than too happy
not to ever ever use Frazier wisdom and free support development of any Knick teams

Thus please
here on board do not EVER never blame Walt Frazier for any views or anything wrong with past and present Knickerbockers
Its moot point and the man called Clyde deserves a lot more respect here than what has been and also mentioned on the board.

Frazier speaks the truth you gotta build with Defense and teamwork and JDolans and whomver puppets are running under
big bossman can learn something from past Knicks stars such as Walt Frazier.. He is here in Knick land strictly for all
fanbase and his love of the Knick logo.

Don't ever forget that! Only one whom would have used Frazier intellect for getting thru to knicks is Mike Woodson if he could
and perhaps Zeke Thomas whom messed up Knicks in first place.

2)players don't like when broadcasters and former player critique their games
See Keith Hernandez and the backlash he gets from Mets players.

Now with Phil in charge you are seeing a reembergance of the 70s knicks like Reed. You could see the excitement in clyde's face once we netted Phil.

However it doesn't mean Clyde will over step his boundaries unless asked to.

Quite honestly this team is such a clusterfck that I don't think anything Clyde has to offer will make a difference.

Maybe when we get closer to contending if ever then he can offer up a few suggestions

Well maybe Clyde can help by suiting up and running the point

hey why not can't possibly be any worse!

players can reach out to anyone who can help their game. Former knicks are no more helpful because they are former knicks.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I think I remember Clyde saying he would be receptive to a coaching request from Phil. If I recall correctly Breen was surprised. Clyde was very excited about the Phil hire.

Coaching? Well that is a little absurd if you ask me. Has he ever coached before?
