It's not the pace of winning losing in a given stretch of games it's how they play overall that matters. They could just as well go on a winning streak or simply play better ball and reach a higher 5 of basketball the rest of the way. None of this current losing is an indicator of what they will do the rest of the season. That's like assuming when they had that hot start in the 54 win season that they'd maintain that level of play for the entire season.

People need to be careful making huge overarching assumptions based on how things have gone early this season. Yeah it's been bad but you can also see that there is potential for them to right the ship and play better as many of these games were very winnable. My guess is that Phil isn't going to make a panic move just to have a better record this year. We all know that this season isn't really about the final record. It would be nice if the Knicks were fully healthy and came out stronger but it's not the end of the world as long as they can get it right over the next few weeks. 12 games doesn't make a season.

Reread that before you call people delusional.

To NOT lose 45 games means going at least 38-44 for the season.

They are 3-9.

That means they'd have to go 35-35 the remaining games.

If you want to tell us this team will play .500 ball from this game forward, then you may be the one who is tripping.

Keep throwing up negativity but you can't predict how a team is gonna play based on a small sample size like 12 games. It's entirely possible for this team to play at a much better clip than this. You aren't Nostradamus and you can't guarantee that this team won't play much better the rest of the way. Maybe they play above .500 the rest of the way. We don't know. It's not a lock that they will keep losing games at this rate.

after last night's debacle you need to look squarely at the main issue which is the horrid defense that the knicks were destined to play this season. there is no cure for that, not even a top 5 offense-- so unless fisher puts the hammer down and gets these guys to start pressing and trapping the knicks are going to continue sucking-- of course conditioning will remain an issue in that scenario but he's already playing 12 guys so there's no harm in it.

Why does the start of camp with "nothing but defense" seem like two seasons ago? WTF was that last night?

Press? They were pressing the inbounds after every made basket for a time against the Bucks and it just led to more open threes for them. You can press and trap your brains out, but if everyone's going to shoot 50% from three against you, I don't see how that's going to help. Did you see Martin's three's last night? With that buttfugly low release, he was wide open almost every time.

Why don't people end up taking more long two's against us?

i didn't see much pressing to be honest, and i certainly didn't see any trapping, but since trapping is only as good as the press that catalyses it, i am not surprised they shot so well.

what i mean is that fisher needs to run practices devoted solely to pressing and trapping so that the strategy can be properly utilized come game time when the knicks need to build a lead or come back.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

NIX
you love making excuses again and again and again and again brother about Injuries ?
be nice if they healthy ?

Really ?

That doesn't make any sense, whom on this team other than a recently hurt MELO is worth talking about injuries my friend ?

You cant give me J.Calderone and Andrea B., cause the first one hasn't donned a Knick Jersey reg. season game yet!
bingo ! when you >30 yrs old you health time in NBA is about health but please don't make Calderone to be T.Parker
nor S.Curry, nor any big major impact player here.

The other guy Andrea he may as well stay hurt. Raptors could not wait to get rid of Andrea Soft
and by the way he is still a 'negative' stat when on floor with players whom played with Andrea year 1 of his Knickerbocker career.

NIX all in all the knicks played softest part of their schedule and flunked !
and 12 games yes does not make a season I'd agree with u on that one brother, However when all the bad teams comes your way
and your/our Knick team cannot even beat the weak/bad teams in their own MSG Garden Gym I don't want hear any excuses you're
making again for team-tank.

Sure Our Knicks boy's can only go upward , that's what losers do.
Sure our Knick team with MELO will some point wipe the Smiles and teeethy grins of NBA Opposition coming in Garden smiling
to wins and embarrassing our Knick hero's.

But guess when you're at bottom like Knickerbockers, we all reach for straws.
I aint say anything but what everyone else sees and watches.

We don't/cant win at home vs. bad teams. This aint new Knicks home record was So-so last season.
We don't have ANY GOOD POINT GUARD PLAY AT ALL. Paublo or Larkins 2-3 assists per game don't work for the DJ, It Sux !

The other bad teams has more fight at their own home court than Knicks. Knicks should be angry & embarrassed but aint.
Are you ?

look we're all fans I love it here
and our Knicks

But they been as bad as Mike Woodson's worst times last year and Woodson got axed' from Knicks
with at least a respectable > .500 winning record with MELO and bunch of guys, which is what we got now.

There is no negativity I am just good at telling the truth,
The team is going no where faster than Dec. 31 2014.

At Knicks pace they will be off TNT and ESPN games prior to NewYear 2015 cause of poor ratings/ boring.

Knicks at least need to give fans something to cheer on
So far
so BAD.

It's ironic - to finish 37-45 the team would have to start winning at a much better rate than they are right now. So, you're actually predicting improvement but Nix still calls you a troll.

same story every year. Sir Bonn, what should be the lesson(s) that one should extrapolate from these?

How about stop calling other fans who are all more right than you all of the time?

I predicted 41 wins for next year (in another thread that got locked because Nixluva had an episode that was probably better for all to not have to witness) mainly because its desperation time for Phil. He can't do worse and if things are starting to unravel again then he will have no other choice then to coach. 41 is not that much better than this awful team so its obviously doable.

However, we also may win more games because we will be overpaying overrated eye candy players like Rondo, Bazemore and even Batum.

Phil really needs to hit on either Conley or Derozen. Just bringing in more Afflalo's are not going to cut it. AND OF COURSE I AM NOT FORGETTING ABOUT TONY WROTTEN.

I wish that we could count all these predictors and report on them so that we can see how everyone is doing.

so here is what phil is thinking ....
