I wonder if giving up cap space next year to acquire second high pick would be better than dropping all of our loot on one guy? This will be a unique draft--if we could do something like a Towns and Kaminsky--we could rebuild our frontline over night for 12 years without relying on anyone else. Anyone who gets Ok4 they get a guy who is 20-10-2 day 1. I honestly dont know what big I would take hard choice after Ok4 but I think clearly a lot of good choices. The guys on Kentucky are all 2 way players rim protectors--I could see PJ liking Towns. Towns

Do you think that you can develop two rookie big man and be in "win now" mode with Melo?

The guys Im looking at are almost sure fire right away players. We need to rebuild our entire frontline. We need two centers and two PF's going 4 ward even if Melo's stays at 4. Were going to lose Smith Dalembart Amare Bargs. Getting two high end rookies to go along with two vets would probably go a long way. These guys are not bench dwellers--these guys are ready made NBA players. I have not seen this type of big man talent--well I cant remember. Its lucky to have 1-2 good big men come out --this year you may have around 8 and 2-4 could be franchise type talent. Its a unique draft--better than last year atleast for us.

Music to my ears. I really like what I've seen out of them as well. But what is your philosophy on starting young players? I know a lot of old school coaches have been staunchly against it and I'm not too sure where I stand.

On one hand, I see how it can be used as a tool to motivate the player into getting better. A lot of young guys today have flaws in their game that never get rectified because they know they've got the potential tag and will get enough minutes to validate it (see Brandon Jennings). On the other hand, I could see how something like that could permanently damage a players confidence (see Kwame Brown and Jordan Hill, to a lesser extent).

If you are good you play If u sck u sit. I imagine the 7-0 270 pound Dakari Johnson will be brick and mortaring someones starting line up right away. There may be some more waiting time with Towns although he may be their best player. And Stein is something between a Tyson Chandler and Deandre Jordan. I read how string Stein is hes put together. All of these guys are going to be rock solid NBA C's.

If I had to rank them Id say its close all the way around but

1-Towns
2 Johnson
3 Stein

Well see if that changes during the year.

I like Dakari Johnson and Kaminsky too. Johnson is more brick and mortar but his size attitude and motor will help a team from day 1--hes going to be a winning player. On the wing that kid from Duke Winslow is also a top 9 pick

Briggs, good to see you still on here. Unfortunately, I'm not as impressed by the above 2 although I think they'll find niches as back-ups. I agree that there are several PF/C "complementary parts", although I see a drop off after Harrell at 4. I'd go with Stein at 5, knowing that he comes with bust potential.

Portis, Oubre, Alexander, Johnson, Turner are all not particularly interesting.

Right now are emotional because the current season is in flux

But they would do a full 180 if we landed the #1 pick
