His size, strength, is closer to a PF, but he has skills of a G, he knows how to fully utilize his size at SG with great timely cuts, especially because The Bulls have BIGS that could pass/facilitate/and post
His DEFENSE is very good but also must give credit to Thibs and the PF and Centers that The Bulls have, that we do not

It isn't even fair to compare Butler and Iman Shumpert, Butler's size/strength is closer to a PF, while Iman is closer to a combo guard
Butler has developed much the past couple of years due to the loss of Derrick Rose and the passing game of Noah and the system in Chicago

Is Butler better than Gordon Hayward who did get a max contract, I don't think so, not yet at least
He is very important to the Bull's team though
Butler played the most minutes in the league last year but shot under 40%, however, with Rose and Gasol added to the team, his FG % will likely go up by a lot in a contract year
However when players like Alec Burks gets over 10m per year, one can easily argue that Butler deserves much more
Both players have the great size/strength to play G/F and even PF on switches at times, especially vs some SF/PF's
Both have guard skills while I think Hayward is much better offensively than Butler

Look at all these players demanding MAX contracts, with the new CBA in 2017 coming, it might look like peanuts
However, there has to be a line drawn somewhere, while some players are good players, they are not worth MAX contracts or the contracts they are seeking, like Burks recently got

So Ron you're saying Jimmy Butler

Wouldn't be just as good playing next to Top 5 Melo?

Let's judge Butler on his merits

He's not a system player, he's a good all around player end of story

I'd take Butler over Hayward////// Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Dessert

And snacks in between each one of them

I think Gordon is a better all around player than Butler is right now. But I think Butler is better than Parsons, who also received close to max money, so it's not out of the question for Butler to get a max deal.
Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

When I see Gordon Hayward defend the better

Offensive players in this league and give them fits

On a nightly basis, I'll concede

Hayward in no way, shape, or form can cover Lebron like Butler

They will never let Jimmy Boy go. He is a nice two way player with a hell of a lot of potentials.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

You are probably correct as Butler is very BIG and STRONG, it also does help that he has Noah and Gibson behind him as TEAM defenders, like Paul George had Hibbert to help defend Lebron
IMO, Lebron is already in decline, losing speed/quickness/athleticism, while he in his prime, he could beat anyone with his choice of doing anything he wishes
Losing the speed/quickness he once had was part of the reason why Lebron was a lock down defender in the past, however, he doesn't look like he is close to the same player he was once

Kawaii Leanard and the Spur's/Poppavich fully took advantage of this, as MVP of the finals, despite being the 4th or 5th option on the team
Credit Leanard for his improvements as well and the confidence and improvements in the shots he took, especially from the 3pt line, along with Poppavich and his development staff, and the Spur's willingness to make plays for each other and hitting the open man
