3 things that we must consider when assembling our roster
1- Fit in Triangle
2- Fit with CA
3- PRICE (with limited asset's and little ability to improve after next summer, can we convince players to take less in hopes of a future deal for more money after 2017 predicted lockout/new bargainning contract)
with the SF/PF, basically has to have the ability to rebound/ quickness/speed/mbility/athleticism to defend shoots, while being to contribute in versatile and many ways like Odom/Pau Gasol was
Possible fits
UFA
Thad Young
Millsap
Rudy Gay despite what all may think about him, his athletcism, size, strength, allows him to play both OFF and DEF at SF/PF (with G skills)
on a lower level, Tony Wroten who I have hoped to trade for who is carrying this weak Philly team by himself, especially if we trade AB/STAT to Philly and use assets to do so in order to go under the tax this season to reset and save 60m due to being repeat tax offenders in tax/salaries
KJ McDaniels will also develop to be a very good G/F with Tenacious together on DEF
I have made it known early in the summer that I like both Wroten and Darko Milicic, I think UK posters now can see why I liked Wroten now, his size/strength/athleticism/speed/quickness/ability to facilitate/steals and being stuck to a rookie contract while still will be getting better, leaving salary to improve in other areas
IF Philly see's MKW as their future PG with their Noel/Embid as their PF/C, they will need SHOOTERS to spread the floor, and Tim Hardaway JR is great at that, while leaving room/time to develop/sign other talents with cap space to assemble their roster
So I would be willing to offer a 2020 1st round draft pick or 2022, Tim Hardaway JR
Trade, without assets but offer only shorter contracts or maybe even Calderon and add ins, (with the contracts of STAT/AB and fill ins)
Josh Smith
David Lee
Hibbert/David West/Copeland
Wilson Chandler (Denver's team has a lot of B tier players)
Kobe
For Center, Phil Jackson wanted Pau Gasol for a reason, his all round game, ability to post up and facilitate/defend/and familirity with the Triangle despite his age concerns
Marc Gasol - I do not think he is max player but someone will overpay for his services, now if we can convince 3 players to take less with player options after the 2017 season to compensate salaries, coming at a risk for Marc's age
Al Jefferson
Lopez
Asik
PG and SG candidates (higher salaries)
Dragic
Jeff Green
ROLE PLAYERS, lower salaries, from 2.5-5m
Lin
Randy Foye (team option) Lou Williams
Gereld Green/Danny Green/Wesley Johnson
Wesley Mathews (cost probably 6m-8m)
Wilson Chandler (team option, cost efficient, that they should pick up and likely would if they can trade Gallo for an expiring)
KJ McDaniels
Jeff Adrien/Dantie Cunningham
Matt Barnes *aging but familiar with triangle and PJ* probably good risk/reward for vet min only
Ed Davis
Bynum (who knows what he is worth at this point but if we can get him for cheap, Phil Jackson will give him a chance)
DeMarre Caroll
Hickson/Speights (team options)
Copeland
With Knick's not picking up Larkin's contract at his price, it is apparent Phil Jackson has plans to assemble a roster and needs all the cap space he needs to do so
It is unlikely we keep Iman for the same reason unless he resigns for less than the qualifying offer on a short term deal like 2 year 3-3.5m
Phil Jackson sold CA on the plan to get better and resign with us, with his track record, we assembles TIER 1 players together
Too many vet min possiblities just list a few
KG - lets put the Cheerios behind us, leadership and toughness is something he provides
Reggie Evans if Acy leaves
Kapono
Lavoy Allen/Edoh
Donald Sloan
Jeffrey Taylor
Summer League and D League roster
