Listening to Doug Gottlieb and he just said he doesn't think Butler is a max player.

He's wrong and it's the kind've statement where I would question his so-called expertise. Butler could be considered a max player simply because of market realities alone. With the cap rising $20-$30 million in a year or two if you max Butler now you'll have him on what is essentially a midlevel deal when the cap rises.

Butler is a 20ppg - 5 - 5 wing who can lock down spots 1-3 with world class level D. Now, some would argue that is a max player regardless of the market but fine it can be argued he isn't a max player. Whatever. When he is getting paid $15 mil a year and max players are making $30-$40 million A YEAR, Butler is going to be one of the best bargains in basketball.
