Before we get too excited remember not just the knicks get more money, all teams get it.
Salaries will go much higher now. Durant's gonna get paid if he stays or not.

Exactly this isn't STATIC it's DYNAMIC

It also calls for grossly overpaying talent

This won't kick in until 2016 or thereafter

Maybe, maybe not. Silver can apply some to next years cap to allow teams to ease into the new flux of cash. I doubt they will go from 70m to 88m in one season

i can see the owners gearing up for a lock out from this

They'll be at the tables bargaining again in 2017

The last deal signed was for 10yrs with an opt out in yr 6 I believe

yeah talk about discount, the Cap is suppose to be somewhere around 88 million.

The bad part, it will go back to the days when you would offer crack head players a boat load of money.
Everybody knows that the more money you have, the more dumb sht you buy that you don't really need.

When we offer Greg Monroe a max contract in the off season his deal may end up favorable for us.

Not really, Faried received 5yrs/$60mil

Which hopefully sets the bar for Greg

But he could get 4yrs 30% of cap[for now let's say $66mil]

If we offer him this, his contract would look like

Year 1 $19.8
Year 2 $20.592
Year 3 $21.384
Year 4 $22.176

That's almost 4yrs $85mil, A Salary cap at $5bil

That's still an ugly contract for Greggy

I thought max would be around 15mil lol. There is no way he is making 19-20. He doesn't have that type of brand name appeal as a Blake or the stats.

I find greed fascinating- the more money they get, the more the owners want more..

I'm a bit worried this expanding cap will screw up the offseason- it's going to hyper inflate every free agents salary, as they'll have an eye on the value of the contract in the near future. It puts a big hit on our chances of signing 2 significant players.

TV deal goes through Cha-Ching!
