Catchers are the unsung heroes of baseball. They are the only players who see the entire game from home plate. They call the pitches and must know how to fool every batter that steps to the plate.

Posada also hit for power from both sides of the plate, making him a dangerous 2-way weapon throughout his career. That made him extremely valuable, particularly for a catcher.

I wouldn't pick Bernie over him for anything. He was special. Not to take anything away form Bernie, he was also a great Yankee.

Wonder how long it will be before we have a young team with promise again, instead of more aging vets like this year's team.

Centerfield is pretty important to. BERNIE's numbers and clutch performance thrill Posada. Not trying to know posada though.

What's next is the question. Yankees royally undervalued Cano and now they will pay for a long time. He would've bridged the gap until the next core comes around. You can't keep signing a bunch of 40yr olds to long term deals and not develop your own stars. Especially since it's so hard to steals great young players now. At least with cano you would've had 5yrs of superb production. Pencil him in at second, watch him his .300+ 30hr's 100+ rbi's. Leave him alone and focus on other areas. Now we have question marks at every single position except maybe center.

The pitching looks promising with tanaka, Pineda & Shane Greene and C.C.
