I believe so. I don't have Plex but I looked into getting it. It does say that it works with dlna devices like an Xbox on their website. I googled it because there are a lot of forums where guys talk about this stuff. I found this link. They talk about plex for Xbox and an app for Samsung smart tvs. http://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1um2t1/dlna_on_plex_is_awesome/ I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

It does not have youtube I believe and some other channels. but...we are primarily a Netflix family right now and it was going to my 3rd TV with only 1 hdmi so this is a good option for me. Best Buy has it for 34.99. That is a great deal. I do think the roku 3 is worth the money and I am pretty frugal. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/roku-1-streaming-player/1618055.p?id=1219057250674&skuId=1618055 I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

I got the roku 3 then took it back to get two roku 1s. I only really use Netflix and Hulu. I need to learn about how to use the roku for more than just those two things. |

There is a big difference in picture quality and at times there is no lag. My plan was to drop cable and go with o t a broadcasts, playon and roku channels. My wife loves cable so we haven't made the switch.CrushAlot wrote:NYKBocker wrote:FYI...Roku 1 is on sale right now at roku.com. $10 off. Downside is that Roku 1 does not have all the Channels. I actually have the Roku Streaming Stick as my first purchase. I love it. Picture quality is really good. We also have a PS3 and stream netflix there. Pic quality is a lot better. |

I don't think our tvs accommodate the stick but I was wondering how it worked. Rokus are awesome. I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

It plugs into the hdmi port, its everything the roku 1 is but better because its smaller. The draw back is you have to have a hdmi port unlike the roku 1. If it wasn't for uptv and espn I think I would be of cable too. |
