Why would a team give up a young, 17ppg and 8rpg big man for free?

salary dump...they have Dieng also in the wing.

You rarely see players that are considered real assets get salary dumped. The only two players I can think of are Aaron Afflalo and Al Jefferson in recent memory and both occurred under very specific conditions. I'm not sure the Wolves will be in that position especially for a top 5 center in the league. We'd need to give up young players for then to consider it IMO. I do think Pekovic is on the block though.

That team's not good enough to get out of the 2nd round. It might not be good enough to make it out of the 1st.

so if we just keep the team as is we don't make the playoffs I guess

Depends on Bargnani. If he's playing regular minutes I think there's a good chance we miss the playoffs again; if he's nailed to the end of the bench like he should be I could see us playing 4, maybe even 5 playoff games.

Phil and Fish said they think Bargs will surprise everyone with his play this season.....so I guess we should shut down this website then.

I don't think Fisher's said that but even if he did, so what? Do you honestly expect them to say about a guy they might be trying to trade that he might be the worst player in the NBA?
