Did you look at rebounds, assists, TS ... or are u just comparing simple stats?

And, do you realize what kind of expectations that he needs to live up to in year two?

I can't even believe that I am actually typing right now!

And I as a poster can call it out for its stupidity.

You are coming across as silly with some of your assertions.

I love the yoots and want to see them play too.

I know what they are and Reggie Miller was pretty much better across the board but lets say that are equal, does that mean that we can predict that THJ will then turn out to be as good as Miller?

Do you see how silly that is?

Why can't you just see how they develop? Jeremey Tyler pom poms? Really?

.9 more rebounds .2 less points.. It would be a big difference if the numbers were far and away different from each other but there not ... Watching Reggie in 1987 and watching thjr in 2013-14 watch the way they played their rookie year is very similar... Their release is very similar. Also Reggie was a 22 year old rookie thjr is 22 now .. As a 6th man which thjr will be 16 points 3reb 3asst. 1.3 steals isn't far off... Are they exactly the same... No .. Thjr can fly and drive to the lane something reggie wishes he could have done.. Is thjr as accurate shooting no.. Is he the actor Reggie was on defense no .. Can he hit the transition 3 like Reggie yes. Can he curl around a screen like Reggie and hit the jumper. yes.. Can he get to the free throw like like Reggie could yes is he as good a ft shooter no. Can thjr jab step like Reggie and hit the 3 in his mans face yes... See what I mean.. Am I saying thjr will be so lucky to have the career Reggie did.. Idk and neither do you.. But to say there game is not similar is being ignorant. Esp the way they play offensively..

Do you know that Calderon won't turn into a prime Steve Nash? Neither do I.

Statically was Reggie slightly better yes was he a year older yes so let's see what thjr dose this year . But to say there game is not similar is not true. Minus the way Timmy gose to the hoop Reggie could never do that

And Timmy isn't where Reggie was defensively.. But again he's only 22 and has bulked up something Reggie didn't do for years

RPM's show that THJ was one of the worst players in the league.

Grain of salt? Could be but alarms? Yes ... that too.

Now maybe he is/will be a decent rotation player but comparing him to a HOFer? Do you feel in your heart that THJ will be a HoFer? Does your heart tell you that THJ will be one of the most feared and efficient shooting guards in history?

My gut tells me that THJ has a chance to be a decent rotation player.

I feel that's Thjrs worst case is to be a decent rotation player ... Best case: all star type sg dream case: hof

I say worst case because he already is a decent rotation player at 22 .. Nobody pinned Reggie as a future hof player at 22 but he did really start to elevate his game his sophomore year hopefully thjr will do the same .

Shump is a interesting case.. Defensively super talented ..I think Woodson really messed with him ... And his knee surgery in the off season stunted his development... I think this year is going to be make or break for him.. He really turned it on coming off the bench for the last part of the season. I hope that carries over to this year.. I feel he'll be better suited this year off the bench bringing defensive energy..

He started hitting that corner three and being more aggressive on the boards to so I hope that carries over to this year as well

I actually think a better comparison for Hardaway Jr is J.J. Redick or Courtney Lee. Those players needed to added strength and work on their handles to become better players. Redick is who I hope Hardaway can grow to become but with more transition explosiveness. Hardaway has athletic skills to be a better defender he just needs to learn how to play D on the NBA level. He has to dedicate himself to that and I hope Phisher and Co. make it a focal point.

Hardaway non offensive talents should be concerning but it would be more concerning if he repeats those short-cummings his sophomore year.

advanced stats mean little in the world of player development. I remember reading this same crap about Marco Belinelli yet Pops though he was important enough to give him a spot on his team

True! And I really like how thjr has bulked up ... He's also a loud mouth leader on this summer league squad! Can't wait for the game today!
