Berman makes stuff up. Why would Thanassis go back to Europe when he played in the D-League last year and we have our own D-League franchise. Either he makes it on the roster or he's on the D-League team IMO. If Shump is out, Thanassis is probably in.

I still still think Phil wants to keep Shump. I've heard taht Phil told shump he feels he will fit well in a new system and he could have traded Shump for a first rounder and didnt. I just hope he doesnt scarifice Shump or Hardaway just to get rid of Amare's expiring contract

First of all there is no need to curse/insult people that just makes you look bad. Secondly 99% of people know the triangle and know Phil jackson has had tremdous success with it. In closing you are trying to tell things we know already

This is what we've been waiting to see from a Knicks team. It's gonna take time to really make this new system instinctive but these kids are smart and VERY athletic. Each of them is a top tier athlete which has been understated when talking about our prospects. They all have high levels of speed and hops on top of good energy and skill level. Put that kind of talent in a solid system like this and I think this is a good start for this youth on this franchise. It's like a college team in terms of the freshness and willingness to learn and apply what they're being taught. It's fun to be a Knick fan right now.

Shump would be gone if we got th 21st pick from OKC, they wouldnt budge off 29

he can make more $$$ in Europe? Don't D-Leaguers get paid like $30K for the season?

I'm hoping he stays with the Knicks. Thanasis has that high energy I LOVE to see in a player. To be honest i'm really pleased with what the Knicks scouts have been doing for years now. They've managed to find a lot of good players despite not having a lot of 1st rd picks. I feel they've made picks count and FA pick ups have also been good as they scour the D league and Europe for players. It's been kind of an underrated part of the Knicks. The thing I like this time is that now with Phil here there is more of a purpose to the TYPE of players we're going after. It's what I like about having a system and knowing what you need in a player to fit that system. We never did that with MDA, but this time we have unity in the front office.

I love when people get excited watching drills against no defense. The Triangle is soooooooooooo magical.
Remember back in high school, when you used to run the weave drill full court in practice? Wasn't that fun? Ball never hit the ground, hit the open man, fill the lanes!

For a second, JT4 reminded me of Robert Horry. He looks like he's lost some lbs.

Now this is true Knick's fan humor:

The difference now is that we know that Phil and Fish are dead serious about building a new culture of team BB and they've proven to be dedicated to that. We've got some young guys that are more than willing to execute that gameplan. It's going to be a new day in terms of how we play from here on. I'm excited about that.

Wow best pickups from Phil may have been Derek Fisher and Kurt Rambis. Seems they really want to teach and they are pushing team ball. Good to see.
Rose is not the answer.

High energy and potential but still raw. Guys like this usually develop better getting to play and practice but if he rides the pine on knicks and with NBA travel scedule, its better he not be on the team. For us to keep him in Dleague, we have to sign him, keep him on the roster against the cap and then send him down. In Europe he can play, be part of the teams regular rotation and get paid.

I don't think he's raw in the sense that he doesn't understand how to play. He just isn't very skilled offensively. You fix that with PRACTICE not so much games. He doesn't need to be in Europe to learn how to shoot or dribble. This is something that always bugs me. When you work on your shooting form or handle it's thru drills and in practice. During games you use what you've learned and perfected but you don't learn how in the games. Yes you need the experience and to adjust to the speed of the live games but in terms of your skill level you have to perfect that in practice and training. I can't wait to see just how raw Thanasis actually is. He may be similar to other high energy guys who were able to contribute but just weren't great offensively.

Thanasis looks trimmer than I thought he did in the D League clips I saw, and somebody commented on Early looking slimmer than they thought, too.

From looking at the clips of their practices, it looks like guys are going to have to be in good shape if they are going to be part of the offense. Lots of movement, as opposed to the stand and watch system of last year, in which guys would be looking at JR and Anthony going ISO.

Guys will work harder and move around more if they actually think they can be an active participant and not just an observer to what is going on. Anybody who has ever played a pick-up game where they were teamed up with guys who only played 1/1 ball know the feeling, where eventually you realize that the extra effort you put in is not recognized and you slow down your effort.

Wonder if Jackson made any changes in the Knicks weight and fitness programs.

In one of Larkin's interviews (I think) he talked about the emphasis the coaches were putting on D.

Now Larkin does not fit this model, but you would think that we are going to be looking for guys who have that long, lean, muscle- guys who know how to use leverage to magnify their strength, and have the quickness and length to block passing lanes and provide good help D. Early and Thanasis fit this model, and if you took a look at the body of the French kid we picked up at 57, he fits the model, too.

Think about some of the guys in Chicago- Jordan, Pippin, Harper, Rodman, Grant, and others I can't remember, now- they were all long and quick, and played stronger than they looked. He had bangers, too, but I always thought about the length and quickness they had.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game. Hopefully we get to see a glimpse of what the offense will look like at some point in the future.

Lol why not get excited about seeing the yoots in drills... Also JT4 is super talented and was the best player on the floor for our summer league last year... The 22 year old will impress fisher... And I think Phil could go either way with melo. actually if melo leaves it gives Phil more control to build his own through draft and yoots and Phil is going to use the spurs plan cause it works

Boy I can't wait for tomorrow to see our young guys learning how to REALLY play BB as a team. So tired of the ISO ball, guys bumping into each other, looking at each other with question marks on their faces or standing and watching.

It will probably get sloppy at times and i'm sure they will have their issues, but this is just the beginning of the process. These kids will be immersed in team BB culture from this time forward. I really love this change.

Welcome to the Triangle
