Very interesting that they signed him right away, before he even had the surgery. One would think it makes the most sense to wait and see how the surgery goes and what the prognosis would be than to lock him up now, but its a nice bit of loyalty from the Spurs org.
From Mills' prospective, it must be a rather serious because the other play would be to go for a short term contract and enter free agency again because if healthy he'd make a lot more than $4mm per annum after that playoff performance.
