He gets to the rim extremely well for a big man but he had some terrible finishes. He doesn't recognize the help coming and often puts his head down and throws up a wild shot. His mid range game is excellent. Spotting up, off the dribble, or even contested the guy is lethal with short and mid range jumpers, but his shot is too flat to be consistent from deep. I thought he took way too many threes. Woodson shouldn't have had them pick and popping so much way out there. That's a simple adjustment to make. Defensively, the guy can clearly defend in the post and he has pretty quick feet for a big when he switched on guards so often. He's not a bad shot blocker either, so all of the potential to be a good defender is there. But his pick and roll defense was some of the worst I've ever seen. Plenty of times we'd try to Ice a pick and roll and Bargs would stay attached to his man, or he simply wouldn't hedge and it would lead to so many switches and mismatches. His defensive instincts are just awful. He doesn't attempt to protect the rim, he hardly gets back on defense, he falls asleep when not defending the ball. A lot of work needs to be done on this guy. Can he change after all these years in the league? Maybe these coaches can get into his head because they seriously need to if they want to get any value out of him. He's not horrible at the rim like Roy Hibbert, but he could improve. He was money from mid-range tho. http://stats.nba.com/playerShotchart.html?PlayerID=200745&Season=2013-14 Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.

It would be much better to let him take his man in the post. He's a match-up nightmare down low or out on the wing. "We are playing a game. We are playing at not playing a game..."

How beautiful if nothing more
Than to wait at Zion's door
I've never been in love like this before
Now let me pray to keep you from
The perils that will surely come

His game would seem to be a better fit for the Triangle, which would keep him closer to the basket and taking the shots he's most efficient taking in the midrange. There's a lot Bargs has to fix, but maybe Phil can do it. |

![]() I think AB is best utilized as stretch Center, he actually showed he was a decent DEFENDER last season with the Center position or with a MOBILE/ATHLETIC C, Tyson and a traditional Center is just too slow and wouldn't work together, especially with CA who is not a good defender/shot blocker
IF he does play PF, he needs a very mobile/athletic C with the ability to be a GOOD HELP DEFENDER/SOLID 1v1 DEFENDER and ability to BLOCK/ALTER SHOTS, preferably would the ability to post up/initiate the OFFENSE/good passing skills/ability to facilitate |
