I would gladly take Julius Randle. Lakers just signed Kobe for a ton of money they are in win now mose. Melo gives Kobe his last shot. When can drafted players be traded?

I think the league would be all over any deal between these two teams. Odds are slim to None. But Nash and Randle would be a score. Has alot of feel good story lines but it will never happen

Only in a S&T. Chicago draft night left them in a weird position where they have to gut the roster one way or another. I don't think they are that confident they get Melo. They took back salary in their trade which is around the same amount the cap hold/salary would be for their draftee

I think what we have now is flexibility. If Melo leaves, we go with a youth movement. If Melo stays, we use some of our young assets and expiring contracts in trades to improve the team now. Taking back veterans in any S&T doesn't really help us in a rebuild. They will take roster spots, eat minutes and probably make us a mediocre team that gets bounced in the playoffs and outside the lottery.

IronWillGiroud you know you are a joke. You remind me of all the fans who was so happy when Ewing left and then a dark cloud came over the Knicks. At a time like this we must be smart. Words like yours and thank goodness you are not a Knicks exec. Or Phil Jackson saying those words because Melo can walk and we get nothing. What if he goes to Miami? Are you ready to accept the next 5 years not winning the east?? Because thats what may happen. I guess it doesn't really matter to you just as long as Melo is gone. By the way he was our best player last year. Who is going to take his place?? OH I know just wait till next year and next year and next year. Stop fooling yourself.

the knicks went 37-45 last year. that's quite a feather in melo's cap!

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Papabear you gotta let him have his opinion. He's already stated he doesn't like Melo anyway so there's really no use trying to change that nor should he have to like him. Also, I have a hard time figuring out when he's serious or when hes joking around to begin with.

That is on management and ownership. He wanted a deal before the lockout and Ujiri wanted compensation for him rather than letting him walk. He either became a Knick at the deadline or went somewhere else. Knick management/ownership accepted the terms to get Melo.

Management and ownership did not force him to take more money and ask for trade when he could have signed here the following year. With Melo it has never been about being a Knick it has been about getting his money. Melo had a choice and he chose to get paid, saying that's on management and ownership is complete spin.

If Melo walks we must not piss him off. We need draft picks and good players. Melo can force that issue if a team really wants him and he is willing to go. But you know how some of these players are with their egos. If he reads something sarcastic that Phil Jackson may say and he gets pissed off and we get nothing for him then what good is that? We just shot ourselves in the foot. This all may turn out to be a disaster for us. Do you think these stars like LeBron is blown over by the rings Phil Jackson has? No. They want the game to be about them and to win some rings. So I believe that the Knicks must be careful what they say and play this cat and mouse game to get the best deal possible for the Knicks.

The last time I checked about last season The Knicks had 15 players on the team. Melo was just one of the players. And he was the best player on the team. I guess maybe the 7th think Melo should have taken on all 5 players by himself. So once again the the 7th is still making false statements and will say anything to bring down Melo. He will even use the race card. He will say anything. He can't be trusted when it comes to Melo. 7th has a bad track record. Also lets not post each other. Just stay under the bridge trolling.

Personally, I'm enjoying the Melo hate.

Will be even more entertaining in a couple of weeks.

This sounds good to me 7th. And Melo is not a one way player. Why is the Heat, Lakers, Houston, Chicago, Maveriks all trying to get him? Is LeBron stupid? 12 million - 13 Million is Mello's worth to you. Each one of these will be willing to pay him the max.Maybe not Miami because they can't. One day we will find out what Melo did to you. Maybe you was a water boy on one of his team and he smacked you for spilling water on him? He took your girl friend? He violated you I just can't under stand why the hate for Melo by you is so not normal compared to everyone else on this forum. You have a personal hate for him beyond basketball I believe and one day I will find out.

i have standards and i don't think athletes are any different from any of the rest of us-- they should be held to the same standards in terms of work performance.

you have a bass player who can't create a pulse you find someone else. great basketball players are like great bassists-- they make the entire ensemble better by creating a pulse and creating a second line that supports the melody and chord changes. melo doesn't do these things for his teams. he overplays and disrupts the rhythm of the offense.

carmelo anthony can't defend perimeter players because he is too slow and can't defend the post because he is too small. he is a tweener on both ends of the court. the matchup problems he allegedly causes on offense are negated by the difficulties he has on defense. now add that he too often takes bad shots and you have an underachiever on your hands-- he gets points but he tends to drag his teams down.

his success in college did not translate to the nba. his success in the olympics is basically on the coattails of players who are better then he is.

since his track record in the playoffs is as bad as it is, it's time for him to re-evaluate his own value to a team he allegedly wants to play for-- even though he opted out.

so i do not like his game. so far as personal animosity, i don't know him so my dislike is based on the way he conducts his business.

nah!!! carmelo could have easily said, I am only signing with NY....am I right crush? just answer that..

And by saying that do you understand the leverage it would have given NY? outside of the leverage we should have already had?

He allowed denver and the nets to play NY and rape them in this trade.. carmelo can go to hell, who does that crush? who allows a team, a company, an organization to spend most of their assets trying to acquire you when you could easily help them save? only a self centered Douchebag.. and to top if off the jackass isn't even a great ball player... fck that chipmunk looking douchebag.. I hope he leaves and never wins!!!!!

Yet you guys are pining for this fool... go figure..
