I like the pick but i agree. Its too early to call this a steal until he starts playing. Im hoping he does become a steal and also larkin ends up being a steal of the trade

Spencer Dinwiddie was my guy here, even with all our guards. Not overly familiar with Early to be honest. Played well on a successful Wichita State team...Numbers look pretty consistent across the board even though DX is reporting that he's "been very streaky from beyond the arc all season. Some games he can't miss but then he'll go weeks w/o making a 3." Haven't seen nearly enough of this kid to cosign that. Here's what I see though: the shooting stroke looks really good -- flawless-looking mechanics and a balanced release where he doesn't appear to drift at all. Stays square to the basket.. That's a major plus. So is the athleticism and the fact that he plays hard on both ends...I know Devin Ebanks is a SF I definitely wanna see us bring in for summer ball. Ebanks can play -- might have better upside than Early maybe...Gonna have to see -- maybe we can bring in Ebanks for SL and see who performs better...

Really can't wait to see what else we wind up doing this offseason -- who we get at 51; is Melo staying or going (if he leaves, what can we get for him)?; what can we get for the mini MLE or full MLE if we can clear out some more cap room?; can we bring in some bigs on the cheap that can play (who will be the starting C/backup C/starting 4/who takes over the K-Mart role)??; who we bring in for summer league, etc..

I was ****ing thrilled with that Lampe pick. He's seemed to have a good career over seas. Shame he never panned out here.

I did too. But he never had a chance here once Isiah showed up. Isiah didn't like him. I also think he was hurt because he had short arms even though he was 7' tall. He wasn't a great rebounder.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

In the most important game of the season for the Shockers, he had his BEST game of the season. That alone makes me excited about Early. I'm eager to see what he'll do in the NBA. I think he's got a huge upside.

The kid is a gamer and his combine results were impressive. I wrote him off Earle
Ier this season because I questioned his athleticism, but that was a mistake. He can score from inside off cuts and slashes, mid range, the post and behind the arc. Kinda reminds me of Caron Butler, but his handles isn't as advanced yet.

Well I do not know too much about him to make a comment. All I can do is just hope that he is as good as what people are saying he is. Or is this some kind of gimmik Cleanthony Early does this mean Clean Anthony Early from the Knicks

Poster said it best a Caron Butler type
tough like Caron but I think he got little bit more skills in his bag few times seen than Caron

To be cited such as Butler is a Good think for us
at least the Caron from UConn days

I don't know why any Knick fan would feel the need to be apprehensive about this kid. If you didn't watch the NCAA Tourney then you missed this kid showing you why he's a steal for this team in the 2nd round. This kid is legit. He's gotta bulk up a bit and improve his handle, but other than that he can do a lot of everything on the court. This is just a really good pick considering we didn't even have a pick a couple of days ago!!! Phil has already changed the prospects for this team in just a short time. lots more young talent and we still haven't seen who he brings in as a FA yet!!! Really like this pick.

I never seen the kid play and I actually passed on him while scouting this draft. So I believe what everyone is saying about him.

From the looks of him he looks like a Josh Howard, Johnny Newman type.....that would be pretty awesome. NBADraft.net compares him to Cliff Robinson. Same type of player as Josh and Johnny...but Uncle Cliffy had longevity....I'm intrigued....I'm rooting for this kid

Cliff Robinson was a legit 6'10" 4/5 man; this kid's a 6'7"-ish SF. Think I agree more with your Josh Howard/J-New comparison than draft.net's Cliff Rob one..

The more video I look at, the more I like him. That stroke of his is damn pretty. Looks real advanced shooting the ball...Could be a real weapon for him, maybe even right away...He's older than most of the kids in this draft class. Might be the oldest. That extra experience should help him as well..

"I’m a New York kid,’’ he told The Post’s Steve Serby in March. “I grew up in The Bronx. I’ve been in Brooklyn, I’ve been in Queens, I’ve played basketball a lot of places in New York. It’s pretty much the same, it’s that gritty attitude, that New York City swag.’

Loved the Lampe pick. The guy was supposed to go top 12.
