Other teams do not serve the NYK's, they do not think "HOW CAN WE MAKE NYK BETTER"
in fact, like PapaBear as pointed out in the past, I believe they make us overpay for talents and enjoy raping us
With Phil Jackson in charge now, I am hoping things will change, and it was mainly because they hated Dolan too much
Hoping it was Dolan was an idiot that they knew they could take advantage off and was a douche
As for as Phil Jackson, even as his first GIG as President of Operations
He has earned the respect in the league, one of his strengths is dealing with all different types of personalities
What are we or the Magic contending for? Draft picks?
The Eastern Conference?
It isn't a smart idea to make your own contenders stronger, with that said unless The Magic somehow use this cap space and make something happen, I think they can easily could have gotten a much better deal
Fournier can develop to a rotation SG at best, and that is the best case scenario in my opinion
Had they waited to the DRAFT, I believe they could have easily got 2-3 picks, with one possibly being a FUTURE pick
I don't know but this seems much more to a Jared Jeffries type of deal from Walsh to Houston, to clear up cap space to go after 2 BIG NAMES to me
Except Orlando isn't announcing to the world their plans are to pursue them
Could be a Lebron and CA combo or just Lebron with some solid FA's like Deng/Hawes
That rationale only matters when both teams are competitive. Neither team is at this point.
I guess, however, especially with Philly, they have many YOUNG talented players locked in to rookie deals
However, many have high ceilings that if they ever reach their potential, they will be looking for a big pay day
So as a small market team, will they fear that day, before it comes, similar to why OKC was unwilling to keep Harden despite his value and potential
They currently will have much CAP space from now to 2017 to develop these talents and attract ALL STAR's and/or a combination of 2nd Tier/3rd Tier STARs to go to Philly
As of now
MCW
Noel
Embid
KC McDaniels
Forms a young VERY TOUGH DEFENSIVE core
add in some talents like
SG/SF in KC McDaniels (a young Matt Barnes like talent)
Dario Saric *Toni Kukoc lite, though currently without a Jordan or Pippen like talent*
Other draft picks
======================
Jeremi Grant
Vasilje Micic *another big PG/SG* who is compared to Jose Calderon in NBADRAFT.NET
Nemanja Dangubic *a BIG SG*
Jordan McRae *another SG*
Current roster of
===========================
Thad Young *very good rebounder, big SF/PF that is highly efficient with a player option after next season that could be part of their future or traded for assets*
Moultrie *had high potential as a athletic PF with the ability to score and shoot, similar to STAT/Bosh if reaches his ceiling*
Tony Wroten *solid 2 way player*
Pierre Jackson is traded back to Philly with the team that drafted him last season in the Holiday/Noel's deal and I can see him growing/developing in to at least a 6th man type role
I know he is "small" but he plays BIG and has the great ability to score/facilitate with his speed/quickness/athleticism/ ability to handle the ball/penetrate and finish/ and facilitate
He also has 2 players in MCW and Wroten that could help him on DEF and recover in time, in addition to some other PG, SG's, and SG/SF's, now they still have a lot of cap space to fill it in
Players under contract in rookie deals that I have no knowledge of
==============================================================================
Elliot Williams
Jarvis Varnado
With the recovery of both Embid and Noel,
in addition to their many predicted HIGH picks coming in, they are looking to continue to tank for those ping pongs balls
