Im prob the only guy here but I do not want Lebron on this team. I would rather swing and miss without him. Him being here is not interesting or exciting. He's already won. This is just the flopping mercenary coming here. No thanks. It would be like Jordan joining Ewing for $50mm a year and winning a title. Whoop de doo.

The NBA is not Lebron's personal playground to stack the deck to build his legacy. He's the best player in the NBA. Go be that in Miami or Cle or someplace else. I would rather hope that Gallo and Chandler become future all stars again than watch my team run by Lebron.

No logic... just feelings. I admit that.

LBJ ios NOT coming to the Knicks. We have zero cap room and he loves the warm weather. Remember this darkhorse--LAL for bOTh LBJ and Carmelo.

you could make an argument that after being on two teams with owners who wouldn't spend, NY could be an attractive destination with Dolan's deep pockets. But, it would gut our roster and the package is still weak to do a S&T w/Miami.

I hear where you are coming from and to a point I agree. I do think though, if it ever happened, everyone would get swept up in the fact that NY could actually win for the first time since 1973. That would probably convert many who feel like you.

I feel it is better to win like the 1973 or 1969 teams or like this years Spurs. Set up a plan, get the players to fit the plan and then win.

for those hoping this may mean lebron comes to ny next year...

the other day i heard a miami reporter talking with michael kay on espn radio stating lebron has no interest in coming to new york.

according to him, in 2010, new york was only lebron's 4th or 5th choice. we were never in that race other than our own fantasy being played out.

kay, sounding distraught from the matter of factness of the reporter's comments then lamented how it could be a top player would not want to play in new york whose fan base is so desperate to have a winner, and was it that playing here with the pressure is the issue, or that it was the knicks as an organization that is a deterrent.

funny because we have p-jax now so does that change things?

who knows.

i hope that reporter is wrong, but it also says something that melo was willing to come in here and try.

too bad we may have not done enough to keep him.

If that guy was Brian Whinehorst take what he said with a grain of salt. He is as a Lebron groupie and loves sticking it to the Knicks. Biggest tool in the media for sure

yeah, i think that was him, and checking michael kay's archive he was on a few days ago. funny because he seemed to suggest he is basically a lebron insider so maybe he is right.

how do we know he is wrong?

He went to the same high school as Lebron in Akron. He is the nerdy groupie. If he was so good he would've predicted Lebron to Miami like Stephen A. He was convinced Lebron was staying in Cleveland. He must have cried in his moms basement for days after the decision. Then he followed Lebron to Miami like any true 60-80's groupie would've done. And if Lebron goes back to Cleveland Brian would follow him there

Please take a moment to admire the great LeBron for the special talent he is. It never gets old looking at the King's history. So many accomplishments Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan will never achieve:

1. Bronze 2006
2. Bronze 2004
3. NBA finals sweep 2007
4. Go entire Finals scoring 20 pts only one time
5. Quit on his team the year after he promises a championship
6. Dunked on by a highschool kid and then confiscate tape
7. Bail on the dunk contest 9 times
8. Only able to win a ring with 2 superstars
9. 7th best player in NBA finals series.
10. Average 1.8 pts in the 4th quarter of NBA finals.
11. Lose not 1, not 2, but 3 times in the Finals.
12. Host a national televised TV show to leave his team
13. Play on the same team as his moms boyfriend
14. Go 2 for 18 in an NBA playoff game.
15. Get stuffed by a player under 6 feet (Nate Robinson)
16. Flop every single game in the playoffs
17. Choke 4 out of 5 finals games by dropping FG% by 18
18. Vow revenge for 2007 sweep, then proceed to choke again

Queen bitch

How though the pay cuts would be huge. Even if they cleared their entire books could they even offer 15 mil per?

Pretty sure they will have to play 5 on 12 for years to come.

After taking a step back and thinking about it, I do really agree with this. I obviously I'd love to see the Knicks win it all though so if Lebron did come here (highly doubt it), I wouldn't exactly be sad.

I actually like LeBron opting out on the heels of Carmelo. LeBron is a true max player, so at least there is a yardstick that we can measure Melo's value to. It will be interesting how this all plays out, with these clubs cranking up the Wooing Machine.

You talking about Jordan Crawford? Crawford was playing college for Xavier after transferring from Indiana a the time of the dunk. It's still bad when you consider who the guy is tho.

I never wanted to see Jordan in a Knicks uniform, felt like sacrilege. He put a hurt on us too many times. Respected and hated him at the same time. Much different with LeBron. If LeBron finished his career in NY, yes. If he wants to spend the rest of his career being a mercenary, no way. Don't want him in NY that bad, not since he got his rings already.. Never happen though.

Funny..if there was even a remote possible of us getting Lebron the people saying they don't want him would be singing a totally different tune. The only reason you can get away with saying that is because there is 0 chance

I laugh at this because this is what happens when teams point to a certain year when the big FAs become available. We will have cap space in year xxxx so we can attract anyone. Well who will there be out there and who will come to NY when there is not infrastructure to peak their interest. Will players want to come to a team in rebuild mode to join Timmy and the big 2015 mystery pick?

Maybe that's not the thought maybe its the long hustle. The 10 year plan?
