This is the kind of deal Denver was trying to get but didn't when Melo forced his way here. Great combination of young players, expiring contract and a 1st overall pick. If this happens, I will personally thank Melo, but to bad this is a serious long shot. Only Lebron and Melo can get this done, but I think these two want to play together badly and heading back to Cleveland would be a great story for LBJ and the NBA in general

the real "coming home"!!!!

Clev saying it won't use the no. 1 pick or Irving for Love. That's Kyrie's "Uncle Drew" teammate !! Do it for Lebron? MElo won't go to Clev unless Lebron is there, or visa versa.

As most of you say, its a reach and low odds. Isola makes this crap up. Fun to think it thru though!

Cleveland has 32M commited less the cap hold for their pick. They can sign Lebron outright and i doubt they would give anything to Miami in return in a sign & trade just because of 'the decision. If they do a S&T for Melo, they still have room to sign other FA's. They would have a big 3, keep their best yough players and room to play in FA to add complimentary players.

Ny would get a great return for Melo and the rebuild would have a great kickstart.it's freaking genius, plus that team would win in the East. Why wouldn't they do it?

Dont the Cavs have like 23 million on the books if they dont pick up the Varejo option? Why the hell would they give us the #1 pick?

4M of that is guaranteed. But they really don't need much help to sign two max contracts. Or they can do a S&T and move the players they want to move namely Varajao who's contract was structured this way specifically for a S&T this year, Jack and possibly Waiters. This would also give them room to sign complimentary players. They could keep their pick or trade it for a future pick. Whatever it is they have incentive to do a S&T

I could see them moving Waiters and Jack in a sign and trade but they could just trade Waiters for a future pick, same with Jack. I really dont see why they would willingly help the Knicks get better unless Carmelo was hell bent on the 5th year max deal. Those pieces could still be used to make their team better while signing Melo as a FA.

was reading an article (forgot where) that depicts Lebrons team being involved reluctantly by Riley into the inner workings of the Heat. Riles thought this was necessary to keeping Lebron longer term. I recall Gilbert losing his mind after letting Lebrons group in and then getting burned after giving them everything they wanted. While Riles is much smarter, and Im sure Lebrons group is more mature now it becomes a heads up to anyone thinking if they want Lebron he comes with a set of rules. Would Gilbert want that again? Would Phil and Dolan allow this?

This was Last season that the "request" was made.

Is it worth it? Is Lebron that good? Riles does!

If I find the article I'll post it.

Cavs and Jazz discussing swapping picks and players.

Jazz would get #1 pick and Jack

Cavs would get #5 & #23 pick and Favors

Exum should be available at #5 and looks like a good fit for the triangle...just sayin'

...and Hairston @23

If Melo goes to the Cavs we absolutely need the top pick. Get Jabari Parker and be done with it.

An absolute pipe dream. Cavs have tons of cap room and with some easy maneuvering can free up enough to simply sign Melo and Lebron outright. Why would they just gift wrap the #1 pick, one of the top assets in the sport for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

I know the Cavs aren't the model of intelligent management but they'd have to high on LSD to do this.

Well part of the reasoning behind the thought process is that the cavs front office is on a mixture of LSD & Meth

And so is Frankie Ice

These forums should cary warning

Enter at your own risk. Being a Knicks fan can cause brain damage. There is a 99% chance that there is no reason to watch the draft on Thurs, and yet i will watch each pick with the anticipation of a draft day deal. Not ready to admit that my entire Knicks offseason will be spent rooting for some undrafted scrub to bust out in summer league....then to make the roster.....then to watch the games only waiting for garbage time so i can get a 5 min look at him chucking bricks in garbage time and complain that he's not getting enough minutes to develop. Sigh.....
