I'm sorry but the Jedi mind tricks don't work. This sounds like a man who has information that someone might be leaving. I have to wonder--LBJ and Melo to LA?

that quote pisses me off. first for the reasons that guns pointed out and, second, how the hell did he get those guys in the first place? He got them to bolt one their original teams, right? Doesn't feel so good now, does it???

Yup I don't fault Riley. The Knicks should've have him what he wanted. He's Pat Riley! He got a better opportunity in Miami. But he should not be talking about guts when Lebron joining Superfriends to premeditate a ring took not guts. If only Riley was in Cleveland and Dan Gilbert's shoes. Lebron not having guts is what landed him in Miami. Riley should shut up

Riley is old school and the notion of a superstar bailing in spite of winning 2 rings in 4 straight trips to the finals must seem very foreign to him. He's never dealt with a superstar who is that much of a mercenary. I don't fault Riley for calling LeBron out for looking for an exit because they lost to one of the best teams since the Lakers championship teams with Kobe/Shaq.

His legacy has already been tarnish, he won't have no legacy if he leaves.

So a walking triple double on the magnitude of 30ppg, 10rpg and 10apg won't be remembered? I'm going to go ahead and call bull.

The second he chose to collude with Superfriends in South Beach

His legacy would've remained intact had be stayed in Cleveland or game to the Knicks and led us to our first Championship in 40yrs

But he chose to ride the coattails of Wade who already had won a ring

What game were you watching, where Wade carried LeBron? The minute LeBron joined the Heat, he instantly became their best player ever. And I doubt his legacy was tarnished in the process. As soon as he won a ring, all the trolls forgot about the past and embraced him again as the MVP of the league. When he wins another, I'm sure everyone will forget all their contrived criticisms and return to snuggly being on his dick, new team or no new team.

Nice choice Lebron. Way to win two out of four premeditated finals for those awesomely diehard Miami basketball fans

What a frickin moron

Lebron represents everything wrong with young people today. Everyone wants instant gratification without putting in the work

The man is a virtual Adonis that has turned himself into one of the most marketable celebrities in the world. You think he got that way from "not putting in the work"? And if he's a moron, having started all that at 17 years old, what does that make you?

If you substitute "Riley" for "LeBron" and "Knicks" for "Cavs", that sentence would make just as much sense. Are you conveniently forgetting that Mo Williams was LeBron's 2nd best player? All LeBron wanted were teammates worth a damn and the Cavs were too incompetent to field one. Hell, they still are too incompetent to build a winner despite having had three 1st overall picks, and two first rounders that were top 6.

Think you're being unfair there- Lebron has but in the work- a hell of a lot of work. He's worked on and fixed every single weakness people used to blast him for. Cleveland are a joke of an organisation- people say that players have a sense of entitlement- well so do organisations and fans! Why the heck should he have to stay with one employer when they consistently fail to build a good team around him?

While it looked like Lebron would ride D Wades coat tales to some championships, we all know that's not actually what ended up happening due to Wades decline these past few years. After their first year together, Lebron pretty much became the alpha dog.

I appreciate what Riley is trying to do. Actually he calling out Lebron and making it harder for him to leave.

Somewhere Lebron decided this is a buisness and he has to look out for his goals and accomplishments. That might be selfish but to whom? THe league? Owners? Sponsers? Fans?

Maybe fans but they will turn on Lebron as well!

Lets not forget Jordan left Chicago as well. He was a Wiz! I doubt Jordan would have stayed if the bulls faultered. Jordan made 30mil for his last two years!!!! NObody told him to take a pay cut!!! CBA had no hard cap or tax then either. I could see Jordan changing teams to pursue winning. He was a dick.

+1. I think people conveniently that Jordan never had to consider leaving the Bulls in his prime because he consistently played with two Hall of Famers (Scottie Pippen and
Dennis Rodman/Horace Grant) and players that were elite specialists (Steve Kerr, Ron Harper, etc.). In spite of that, there were rumors about him bolting to the Knicks during the mid-1990's.

He had a great coach and was making massive cash. No reason to then, but once he left he never seemed to be a guy that prior to owning the Hornets was a "Bull for life" kind of guy!!

you guys are nuts...riley is dead on. melo isn't going anywhere as i don't think phil jackson is going to accomodate a sign and trade without holding the other teams future and supporting cast hostage.

The only person i could see leaving is Bosh and that would be awesome, as I see him leaving for us. some how, some way.

Chandler & Felton for Bosh anyone?

What are we nuts about? The only thing I could think of that is nuts would be trading a floor spacing big man that could give you 20-10 for a lane clogger like Tyson Chandler and the worst PG in the league. Bosh has been the only MIA player to go on record saying that he will not leave the Heat, so don't expect to see him in a New York uniform anytime soon.

Exactly. Lebron's legacy is not tarnished. 4 straight finals, 2 rings. And this Miami Heat team is NOWWHERE near as good as some of the legendary bulls squad (Look at Pippens numbers in his prime--dude was a VERY similar player to Lebron -- a all NBA defense Forward who could handle the rock and dish assists like a guard). Pippen is the superior player to the Bis 3 Heat era sidekicks (Bosh and Wade).

Lebron is in his prime still, too. If Lebron goes to a team like the Clippers they'll be an instant favorite. Paul and Griffin with Lebron is simply unfair. The bottom line is love him or hate him I would not wager that he is done stacking NBA hardware or adding 'chips whatever he decides. This Heat team made some egregious personnel errors this year if he stays in Miami I doubt they'd make that error again. Lebron with any semblance of a good roster is a favorite.

I know, right! Pippen was a ****ing baller. I think people forget the fact that he lead that very same Bulls team, without MJ, to the brink of the Eastern Conference Finals. If it wasn't for a blown call that went our way, they would've gotten in and potentially gone to the Finals. Jordan was a hell of a player but he's become more of a myth than anything else. If LeBron had the same talent he did, as well as the same coaching, he would've had 6 rings by now.
