Thought I'd put this in here.

I still remember Starks post game comment after beating Indiana "the hard part is over, it should be a breeze now"

Ohhhh, John.....

I remember some controversy about Starks wanting to bring his golf clubs with him on the trip to Houston and the coaching staff being slightly annoyed.

I think it was another series when he "guaranteed a win" but bought his clubs. When they were eliminated I think on the road, he stayed behind and played golf. Starks had a few incidents with management. He was no angel, but thats why he was picked up off the waiver wire!

I was in the dorm community room watching the game on big screen TV with my friends who were all anti-knicks, but that day, they all pat me on my back consoling me for freaking out and not able to watch my game that day.. I blame OJ for jinxing us the championship

Anybody else remember the song played during the end credits? I think it was Mariah Carey's "Hero".

All I remember was that I was balling crumpled on the couch when the song came on with John's face on the screen over and over again....thanks NBC!

Sorry I'm late to the party...just seeing this.

I was at the game. We were in our seats in the "Blues," and the way we found out that something weird was going on out in the real world was that I noticed the TVs in all the luxury suites were not showing the game, but all had some sort of car chase on. Not sure how we found out what the story was. We either went to a concession stand to see what was on the TVs, or we were able to figure it out when they would every so often quickly put NBC on the Jumbotron (they would switch to it for only an instant at a time).

But we had no idea that the whole nation was unable to watch a huge chunk of the game.

Starks had heart, but wasn't very smart.

I was right around the corner from you at my friend's girlfriend's house- screaming at the TV when they put OJ on w my friend asking me not to yell in his GF's apartment- it was a crazy day- but the Knicks make me yell what can I say?

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.
