“I’ve really had injuries I’ve been dealing with the whole time,” Williams said. “I didn’t have the talent around me I did there. Their system was a great system for my style of play. I am a system player. I loved coach (Jerry) Sloan’s system there, I loved the offense there.”

“I grew up in high school, my coach wasn’t one of those guys who would just throw out the ball and let us play,” Williams said. “We were a system team. We had a staple of plays that we relied on. We were good at execution. In college (at Illinois), we ran the motion offense. A lot of cutting, a lot passing, a lot of screening, a lot of extra passes. I’m used to just movement. So I’m still trying to adjust. It’s been an adjustment for me.”

This quote was from December, 2012! WHat about him under Kidd??

He is contemplating surgery in the off season and thats never a good time to ask for a trade!

IM sure some of you would love this all to be true but there is a lot of "Source" to this.
He looked good in some parts of the game but like the rest of the Nets he got stymied against Miami in crunch time!

I remember D'Antoni wanted the Knicks to do a straight up Deron for Melo swap. That guy was an awful coach in NYC.

You could make decent sized list of PGs who sucked after Sloan stopped coaching them.

Howard Eisley never forget.

it sucks that he has 4 years 18 million per, but chandler and felton for him would be great...i'm down on felton and feel that we still have the expiring of amare and bargs expiring for a max free agent.

We upgrade at the point, we resign melo.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Not sure that Williams ever wanted to be a net. He stood to lose 30 mil if he left for dallas. King made some moves to make the team more attractive and he resigned. I don't think Williams had any idea he would be traded.

Bargs and Felton for Deron and Teletovic
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Having max salary cap space would be much better than that. Deron's a major liability at that salary.

Agree. Also, not sure what would make him happy. Does he want out of nyc or just Brooklyn? The Nets have done a lot to accommodate him. Even hiring Kidd, a guy Deron is supposed to be very close to, could be seen as a make DWill happy move. Too much of an injury concern and he is owed too much money. It will be interesting to see what King does with the cap/roster issues he has created. I read this morning that Blathce is going to explore free agency. I know the Nets want Livingston back but he may get better offers and there isn't anything the Nets can do if he does.

I don't think DWill is a guy the knicks should go after but this trade works on trade checker: Williams, Plumlee, Teague for Felton, Tyson and Prigs.

I would gather they want picks and cap space since they have non so it would have to be a 3 team deal if it involved the Knicks.

Good riddance deron, you are on the downside of your career anyway. although he can help the rockets, it would be a good trade.. bring Lin back to NY, I would not mind seeing him on the nets...

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

We could trade Tyson Chandler and Amare to Dallas for Samuel Dalembert and two trade exceptions totaling $32 million. With the exception for Amare's contract, we could send to Brooklyn for Williams in a salary dump; no assets.

I know Cuban wants Tyson back, but is he that stupid? And I thought the key to this whole deal was getting rid of Tyson AND Felton?

Exactly. Our primary team goals in order:
1. Resign melo
2. Trade Felton
3. Keep cap flexibility for 2015 summer
4. Make the playoffs
Let's go Knicks. That's amare
