Pay the man, it's only Dolan's wallet and it doesnt affect the salary cap at all.

Funny, since when do "We" pay for it?

How many games do UKers actually go to?

Our MSG channel goes up .40 cents a month?

But hey Melo, wee need you to honor your word and take less money because we want to "win" and we are about "winning"...Can't be mad at the money grab tho..I'll do it...

You are unbelievable

No guns you are unbelievable. Everyone gets paid but Melo. That's why the Knicks will never win a championship. Everyone is robbing Dolan and he pays the money and they don't deliver. Do not pay that sucker'

Not me. Unfortunately I contribute to the tv ratings. Didn't watch all the time this year. Certainly not pre and post game like I did the precious year.

This is why Phil is here

its not about who pays for it.... it's not even about how much... it's about worth for your money.... dolan loves to overpay and buy into "scintillating conversation" with phil jackson. i mean seriously, when is this guy going to learn... you don't overpay a guy like phil jackson so that he can come in and overpay "his guys". you overpay him so that he will create a value for money system. smh.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Question... If you are confident and believe the system will work wouldn't you want to be compensated?

Or should we go the Grunwald/Woodson route and work for peanuts because we are desperate for a job in the NBA?

You get what you pay for

The player's payroll has to adhere to hard cap so yeah, if Melo wants to "win" he does have to take less money. At the end of the day, even with Melo taking a "discount" hell still likely make $18 or $19 million a year, far more than Kerr as coach and almost double what Jackson makes.

Coaches and GM's salaries don't count against the salary cap. However, you have to pay quality front office guys more to come here because we have a reputation that is in the gutter. Look what's happened to the revolving door of coaches and GM's over the years. Hell yes your going to want more if your other option is sunny golden state with a win now roster.

I guess you gonna tell me next that the GM and coach are here to change the culture?

All I can do is hope they do? Certainly, the status quo has been pretty sheehitty most of the time. I've learned over the past 12 or so years to not get my hopes up when it comes to the Knicks so all I can do is hope Jackson really does have full autonomy and can actually build a winning team with a well functioning front office that isn't simply Dolan's lickspittle sycophants.

They are here to do what everyone does...It's a money grab...I can't blame them..If Dolan signs onto this and Kerr bombs, he will be the biggest joke in sports...

Dolan is _going_ to become a laughingstock? He already is and has been for a while now.

ha ha you're really going to go this route. fantastic

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Larry got 18mil for a years worth.

They still laughing. DOlan is used to it.

BTW, We don't know for sure what is being asked nor what they will settle for so Lets not jump too far ahead.

We have to also understand Kerr only comes because of Phil. Kerr wants MDA money for an extra year.

I like the long term nature of the proposed deal as it gives a few years patience.

Kerr is making it easy for Jackson to look for another candidate. Kerr wants the GS job. Only way he takes the Knicks job is for the money as he probably think the talent isn't there. Jackson shouldn't go for Kerr and really look at Hoiberg who has the coaching experience. He should get what Mark Jackson got or Kidd got.

5 years at $30mil for a coach with zero experience is an absolute joke- wouldn't pay him that out of principle!

Steve Kerr's reps have done their homework on longevity with Dolan. It is a money grab.

We need a head coach and a new backcourt.

What relationship does Hoiberg have with Phil? it's quite obvious Phil is only bringing in guys that share his vision.

As for Kerr, he going to Sea with Phil had the Kings moved, so no, if he comes here being with Phil has importance.

The money is irrelevant.

It's a money grab plain and simple...Kerr is living a modest life for a former NBA player with 5 rings...This is his shot to get paid and get paid big..This is more money than he has earned in his career as a player...He wants to go Hollywood...It's all good because I would do it too..Just don't tell me you are here to "change the culture" and "it's about winning" because you are doing what everyone else before you has done...Rape Dolan for as much as you can get...

If Melo walks, this is a 28 win team at best, triangle or no triangle...And if I'm Melo, I want as much as I can get too...

I never go to games. I also don't get MSG so I rarely watch them any more. But I will probably tune in next year. Maybe Kerr is worth $60,000,000. Maybe this is finally the combination that will turn the Knicks around.....
