Ariza came in as youth to Knicks few mistakes as rook, but showed potential & with little minute
he played he had shown to be versatilw 2way guy to develop
Ariza also had good moments in brief Knick Tenur
Ya'all mention names Like Layden, Ernie G? in this post
I am very surprised none of you guys mentioned & BLAMED ENTIRELY Lawrence Brown whom came to NYK as coach for 25sec
& got rid of T.Ariza in 5sec! SENDING Trevor Ariza & Lil' Penny FROM a poor NY knick squad For Stevie Francis whom lasted 20se
as his Knick tenure!
TREVOR Traded from NY

Same Larry Brown whom blasted NY over Woodson, As if Brown is authority on stuff. He is all about Larry!

Thought Larry Brown would love him, but he didn't (or maybe he was using some sort of tough love approach that didn't work, like woody with Shump). Heartbreaking when we traded him for... Was it Steve Francis? Yuck!

Exactly. History tends to repeat itself with this team. But I'm hopeful that things Chang now with Phil

Ariza was more raw than Shumpert

Larry Brown forced that trade on the player he referred to as delusional....BTW, does Ariza ever develop into the player he is now if he was never traded to the Lakers and tutored under Kobe?

I have always like him since he was drafted
Knew he had a high potential as a good role player, with the right pieces, fit, and system
He would have never developed under the mess we had with our team, going to a team with Phil in the Triangle with the versatility of players like a younger Gasol, Odom, Kobe, and Andrew Bynum brought out the potential in him

Though he was a 8th/9th man, he played and developed in to a very important role, utilizing his length/athleticism, and developing a shot/all round game and taking advantages of mismatches/good cuts/ most importantly player movement and ball movement

PG Fisher
Kobe/Ariza/Shannon Brown
Ariza
Odom
Gasol/Bynum

was a great fit and very hard to defend, basically Ariza/Odom/Gasol all were so versatile and Kobe drew so much attention, it was a great fit
Ironically they payed MWP instead of Ariza as Ariza was signed by Houston for the same price as MWP *which also played for Houston prior to Lakers*
Both got the 5m MLE with raises at a max 5year deal

I have been hoping he could return since I saw him develop his confidence as a Laker
However, he is a player that utilizes his athleticism, versatility, length, speed/quickness, all round talents, and will likely decline much before his next contract ends if it is maxed out in 4-5 years

He is playing his lights out on a contract year and with Washington paying Webster and Gortat looking for a long term commitment, Washington would likely need to pay to keep both of them with them likely knocking out The Bulls

Wall
Beal
Ariza
Nene
Gortat

Webster *was great last year and got rewarded and overpaid in my opinion, Ariza >>> Webster*
Webster got 5m MLE with increase and Ariza deserves more, possibly even higher than Kyle Korver type money of 7m or so, though their games are different
Otto Porter *fail so far*

Young talents on contract years
Serephin, Booker, Glen Rice Jr, Garrett Temple, Chris Singleton *in Iman's draft class*
We should be looking to sneakingly acquire some of these role players for vet mins

vets
Andre Miller

Drew Gooden and Harrington

45m but with many contract years of players and a partial guarantee on Andre Miller as a team option

No crying over spilled milk. He's on his 6th team now. He developed his 3, and plays under control now, but its like 9 seasons later and a lot of traveling around.
